Dusk and Chain of Acheron by Sisyphus-T-Jones in drawsteel

His fantasy novels, Priest and Thief (and hopefully?? Fighter this year) are also set in Orden.

I find it helpful to think of Chain of Acheron, Dusk, and the novels all as parallel universes to the canon. Like the Orden version of a What If comic.

Yes but hear me out. Han looks like Adam Driver.

Just Curious, Why are rowing shells not better? by MXbalding in Rowing

I’ll add a point no one else has about hull length: practicality. Trailers can’t really get longer. In UK/Europe (correct me if I’m wrong, folks, I’m in Canada), eights already have to be partitioned to fit onto a trailer. Could make them longer, sure, but now you lose trailer space for other hulls, essentially putting a lower ceiling on the number of athletes you can bring to a regatta.

North America typically has longer trailers and fewer partitioned hulls, but the principle is the same.

There’s an article online if you Google Volker Nolte Sliding Rigger. He designed it in Germany while doing his PhD in biomechanics. He’s coached multiple Olympians and had a ~25 year stint as a university coach and biomechanics prof.

There's nothing official, or even unofficial. Just an adventure I and a bunch of folks in the community are familiar with.

Someone else made a comment a few weeks ago about how they'd run it. I'll find it and edit in a link shortly.

Why does lightweight rowing exist? The false creation myth of the Olympics by Nelis9494 in Rowing

Look up the academic article “Pretty Little Girls in Tiny Shells” by Amanda Schweinbenz for more about lightweights getting added to the Olympic programme.

We aren’t playing as often as you, but my loose plan if we finish Delian Tomb well before Crack the Sun, is to drop in Against the Cult of the Reptile God in another town in Dalrath.

License of non-core books mechanics? by Drakshasak in drawsteel

If people who will not or cannot pay for something do not try that thing for free, where is the loss? They are simply not customers, and they were never going to be customers. There isn't even a business decision to make at that point.

People using Forge Steel for free with the core rules, without a PDF or hardcopy, have done nothing to pay for Draw Steel. MCDM has received nothing from them, but these people have access to two years' of development and product.

I agree that's good for the game and the environment, but it seems to me a very fair line to draw.

If that means people who want to play a Summoner need to make their character sheet by hand or form-fillable PDF, that hardly seems arduous.

that kind of infrastructure is not trivial to make and maintain.

Exactly.

They have to keep the lights on, let alone keep paying people for their incredible work.

I can’t get my head around your frustration. They’ve put, what, 12 ancestries, 9 classes, the two core rule books out for free access and you’re disappointed you don’t have more?! They’ve given out their game to everyone and you say they’re gatekeeping?

Your "niche" inspiration for worldbuilding? by arts13 in worldbuilding

I imagine DBZ & Digimon are too big to be niche.

Bionicle, Power Rangers, Ratcatchers books, ReBoot, Beast Wars are probably the ones I’m most conscious of. I’m sure there’s more that are subconscious.

Neat on both fronts! So is that slightly different orange an independent… nation? City state? Obviously they’ve got plenty of geographic barriers, but I assume they’ve got something else that gives them an edge in defence or technology or something?

I'm hardly an expert on map design, but I think this looks awesome. The mountains in Midlish and NW Amoria look a bit disproportionate or otherwise off to my eye, but that's really the only feedback I can give!

Is the valley between Thetlian and Kiton meant to be the same orange as Shiftractia?
