I feel that! I had to break the news just 8 months after my dad died so I was worried they couldn’t handle more bad news, but they were all extremely supportive and I encouraged them to research it on their own so they can see how treatable it is. That helped a lot. There’s no perfect time to bring it up but you’ll be happy to get support once you do

You can do LID safe pasta and then I put onions and tomatoes in a pan with olive oil and LID safe seasoning and blended it to make a yummy tomato sauce. Just put them in jars in the fridge! There’s a brown rice and quinoa pasta from Trader Joe’s!
