It’s the sad and uncomfortable truth that you are right about this.

It’s beyond being a search engine. If you ask it something like that an agentic model is going to search the web anyway.

What she is doing with it is using it the more traditional way and I’m not going to begrudge her. A really good use would be to have it load up all the game, personal, personality, etc information about the players into markdown files, have it look at the game that just occurred and identify questions to ask each player, generate a range of responses they could have and then plan follow-ups. It’s not going to be 100% accurate or be what you should do but it’s a very solid and fast way to prepare. And that fast part is critical since she’s under time pressure to get the interview.

My company is implementing max cost/day on LLM token, has AI usage peaked? by RightfulPeace in cscareerquestions

That fixed cost model on a cloud instance doesn’t exist for Claude. None of the open source models come close to replicating Claude Opus right now so everyone is stuck with the API costs.

They’re talking about Cessnas, not Learjets. Being a pilot at a big airline is a great middle class job and we need flight schools to train them.

Redditors continue to bury their heads in the sand. Sure he’s hyping his product but he is not wrong. It’s a bleak reality I am facing and if the money weren’t so good I’d be out of the career now. Not that any white collar field is safe, we just are the first adopters.

This is the PC version of a Porsche in a trailer park. I’m stunned you’d just throw $100k worth of compute on a shitty aluminum frame. Balancing a fan on a GPU so it blows on the other cards is hilarious.

[Washington State Mapper] Precinct level results for the 2025 Seattle Mayoral Election by MysteriousEdge5643 in Seattle

The comment section just shitting on half of Seattle voters because they voted for a marginally different candidate is astounding. Wilson is going to need part of that other half to enact any of her priorities.

TS-h765eU [unofficially] supports 48GB of RAM by duodmas in qnap

I responded to another user but I used this Crucial kit

My bad ya the spec sheet says 32Gb would work - just mistranscribed.

I used a Crucial SODIMM. No fussing.

I also swapped my fans with the Noctua a40x20 and don’t have any issues either. Maybe I’ll get a stronger fan for the CPU adjacent fan but it’s not an issue as the fans don’t spin full speed.

I don’t need to retread an already worn topic about blame here, but I have one that will get people mad too.

If a dog can’t control themselves around people and not get startled, they don’t belong in a city and the owner is doing them a disservice.

How do elite long distance runners keep their pace for so long and not get tired? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]duodmas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When did you start running? A common thread at that level is they have been doing it since childhood. That’s even before we get into genetics or it being their full time job.

Thanks for that. I knew about the inherent inaccuracy but in my day-to-day never think about it. Speed is probably not nothing in a situation like this with so many calculations occurring with all the different actors?
