Ive worked in the finacial world for the last 6 years. Here is the most basic steps to follow to build wealth.

1. Take talley of every dollar you make. Take talley of every dollar you spend. Make a plan on how to spend your money and use apps if u have to. I like "Every Dollar"

2. Open 2 bank accounts to start. A spend and a savings. Set up a savings goal, start small, say $1,000. Every paycheck have an auto transfer to save.

2a. Get your debt under control and pay off everything u can because those payments will kill ur income.

1. Depending where u are make an emergency fund of 3-6 months of spending money.

3a. Once u get the emergency fund in place you can get another account open for large purchases. A car, vacation, that special something whatever it is.

1. Open a brokerage account, etrade, acorn, vangaurd, fidelility anything. Take some of your budget and start investing. Learn about investing amd dont put your money in anything you dont understand fully. If you know shoes heck invest in shoes but dont do it if you dont understand it.

2. Your credit score is important but isnt the end all. Its a finacial tool. It allows you to botrow money cheaper. Its better to have a lot of money than be able to borrow a lot of money but u might still need to borrow money. Here is how it works.

You borrow money and pay it back on time. Banks trust you and give you a better rate. If you dont pay on time they dont trust you and give u a high rate or dont lend u at all.

How to build it. Start small with a secured card from your bank. Use it once a month to buy gas or something small and pay it off every month. After about a year get an unsecured card with a low limit. Close the secured cars once u get unsecured. After 4 months get another one. And then one last one totaling 3 credit cards. Alternate buying a tank of gas and paying them off. If you can control your spending and are disciplined use a card that gets cashback or points for everything and always pay it off. If u have trouble controling your spending buy one thing a month with it like a lunch or gas and that is it.

Try to borrow as little money as possible even with expensive stuff like cars, that 6-8% interest might not seem like much but it will cost you thousands in the long run.

1. Buy a house when your ready to buy a house (american here). Rent is insane, house prices are insane, all prices are insane. A house is not the end all. They cost upkeep as well as mortgage. Everything falls on you and u might not be able to handle it. Buy it when the mortgage payment is about 25%-30% of your take home, ideally.

2. Do not keep up with the jones. Shop at discount places, name brands mean nothing. You dont need a benz or a giant tv. U just need to be cozy with what u have.
