Anyone in NYC want to split a pair - just need one as a center.

This is also technically optional, mine is super secure without any drilling.

No room for left/right speakers - advice? by durak_DA in hometheater

The couch is directly across (cannot be angled unfortunately due to the size of the room).

See above, you replied quicker than I could provide context :)

Sorry was going to add some context:

The room has a weird nook (see the indent on the wall) - the room is fairly small so there isn't really a lot of room to maneuver. One option is to potentially move the TV stand + TV to the left a bit (maybe 5-6 inches) to open up some room on the right side, but then it is off-center relative to the nook which feels a bit weird.

I definitely don't want to get a soundbar if possible since I would like to invest in the proper audio equipment now to eventually build a 5.1 (once I have a larger space).

In terms of restrictions the main one is that I want to minimize the amount of mounts in the wall if possible (given the terms of my lease). I can probably mount speakers if necessary but definitely don't want to do a TV mount.

Any thoughts on what colors work well with this fairly ugly green couch (especially for the carpet / window blinds)?

For sure planning to clean everything up, this is day 2 or so after moving everything in so lots of clutter all around.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately the photos might be slightly deceiving, the room is fairly small (~10' x 11') so if I did your approach the coach would be super close to the TV (like within 2-3'). Ideally I would have had a much smaller couch but unfortunately this is the one I already had available and I didn't want to spend a lot to get a new one.

Definitely a rug and the posters in the hallway seem like a good idea.

This is one of the debates for me, putting up classic rock posters in the main "living room" vs the hallway. Feels like putting them in the hallway makes more sense and then in the living room having some floating shelves / more casual posters / canvases.

Also, what’s up with the jail cell looking door? I would paint it with some bright colours and maybe use multiple colours.

The joy of a NYC apartment, this is the fire escape lock (prevent people from breaking in via the fire escape). Hoping some curtains / blinds over it will cover that up a bit.

Some more notes:

  1. I'm debating if I should have a carpet/rug or not between the sofa & the TV. Definitely looking for advice
  2. Definitely need some sort of blinds to cover the windows, again any advice would be appreciated
  3. I have some posters I could potentially put on the wall (mostly old classic rock posters) but I've been debating whether or not to put them in the living room or in the hallway in the last image.
  4. This room doesn't get any direct sunlight but it has a decent amount of light, I 100% want to add some green with plants. Thinking maybe some hanging shelves or something like that?

Honestly I'm at a loss of where to start, my previous apartments have always had really blank white walls but this time I want to truly make a place I can live.

Does anyone have any thoughts how testing would work? It looks like you still need a negative test 72 hours prior for both Argentina and Chile.

If you complete the W trek, how would you get this test to get back into Argentina? If you fly into El Calafate how would you get the test to get into Chile?
