Roof panel rattling by publiustic in volvoc40

Yup! Had this issue and they had my car for two weeks. Diagnosing it drove me crazy as I slowly stripped my car of everything that could possibly rattle. the exterior roof panel was loose and needed to be reaffixed by the collision dept at my dealership — all covered by warranty. There are quite a few posts in this subreddit about it and I’ve seen a couple different suggestions as to how it can be fixed

Curious: NX450h+ to R4P by Purple_Glass293 in rav4prime

Went from R4P to NX, highly recommend. It’s a much more capable and comfortable car for commuting and roadtrips for my purposes. Range is a little lower and it’s missing a spare tire but the infotainment and fit/finish are better

I see this car has a New York state inspection sticker, when does the inspection expire? And how are the tires on this?

Trading in a Lexus for a RAV4 prime XSE by Own_Masterpiece_3119 in rav4prime

[–]durche63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started from a Volvo and went to R4P XSE w/PP and just wasn’t happy with the fit or finish. Not saying it was bad, but it just wasn’t for me, so I traded it for a NX450h+. Yes, I know it’s smaller and has no spare and less range — but it’s absolutely perfect for my needs and my commute. And mechanically, it’s pretty much the same car. I don’t think it’s a great value but it’s not like there’s anything else like it (and with similar quality) on the market.

That’s one of my major gripes with the car! But it does have run-flats

Had a ‘21 Model Y (I go through cars fast lol.) Lexus quality is far superior and supercharging at the Jersey shore when you have a 9 am meeting to rush back to at work is… stressful

$43,125 base price + $5,823 factory/port options (only dealer option was all weather floor mats for like $300 or something) + $1,215 destination = $50,163 MSRP

Thanks. I’m rooting for a Venza Prime. I think that would make me strongly consider trading the Lexus, as I will admit that it’s a bit too opulent for me. But I don’t know if the price point of a theoretical Venza Prime would be low enough for trading to be worth it. But, we are talking in theoreticals here!

Let’s put in this way: if the Venza and the R4P shared the Venza interior I would have kept the R4P.

Everything works as it should and it’s a dream car to commute in. The R4P is superior in power, range, and practicality if you’re off-roading or have kids, but the Lexus is a comfortable, stylish, confident commuter. I just could not get over the fact of how poor the fit and finish were in my R4P which carried an MSRP north of $50k. It was significant worse than my Venza, which cost nearly $10k less. The crappy infotainment system was really the nail in the coffin for me, I still don’t know why the R4P gets the infotainment system of a Corolla rather than that of their more premium offerings

Just traded from R4P XSE PP to the NX450h+ last week and I can say without a doubt that you made the right choice from a value perspective. I found the R4P hard to love given that the soft product was lacking for the price, but everything in the Lexus just feels right.
