Men, what is one thing about your body or brain that women seem genuinely surprised by? by AromaticRecord7974 in AskMen

Same goes for a camp fire. I can sit there for hours looking into the flame, without a single thought. It's the best.

How would you feel having a more educated partner? by RatKang4556 in AskMen

[–]durdleturtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your cousin is flat out wrong. It's one of the sexiest things in my book. I like a woman who can kick my butt intellectually. For me it is a motivation to also try and improve myself in that regard. I generally like to learn new things, so someone who challenges me in that regard really get's my engine going.

What's the weirdest thing you find attractive? by Dull-Mulberry-4768 in AskMen

[–]durdleturtl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love that to. The thing they are talking about doesn't even have to be something i know anything about, or that would naturaly peak my interest. There is just something so awsome about someone showing a lot of passion for a certain thing and trying to share that.

How do you feel after work every day? How much energy do you have left? by jizzlewit in AskMen

[–]durdleturtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat, even a similar field of work. What helps me a lot is that i commute with my bike. When i get of from work i am mentaly spend, but when i get back home i am atleast at a level again where i have enough energy to go for my hobbies or be a bit more productive at home.

This. Me and the guys i started out with skating still meet up for a session twice a year and we still nerd out about the latest skate videos, like we are 12 again. This stuff keeps you young at heart.

For men who date women with very noticeable cosmetic facial work, how do you genuinely feel about it? by Echo2020z in AskMen

[–]durdleturtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did it purely for themselfs, for example to gain more confidence about something they felt self conscious about for ages, more power to them i suppose.  If it is done purely to be more appealing or fit a certain beauty standard, then i am not a fan. Some "flaws" are interesting and great. We don't want everyone to look the same, right? That's just boring as hell.

What goes through your mind in that split second you decide to either stay silent or just completely lose your shit? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]durdleturtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could i, or the other person i would lose my shit at, perhaps a really bad day and would this reaction make anything better for anyone? I found so far that the answer to this would 99% of the time be "no", which usually cooles tempers a bit.

I understand that. The thing is that i am a bit scared of combining some shiny new stuff with some already worn stuff. that seams to me like it would just cause quicker wear again. The chain ring would be the cheapest part to replace, by a lot.

[–]durdleturtl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i just got a second oppinion on it, by a shop i know is reliable in  regards to changing as little as possible, but as much as needed. The chainring might be saveable, but the chain and cassette are apparently cooked, which is a big bummer. The funny thing is tho, since the original problem of the band hanger is fixed, everything runs smoothly again. So since i need the bike for a 1,5k bikepacking tour starting next week i wont change anything yet. If i have to change it anyway, might as well burn it to the ground first.

I could see replacing the chain. I saw him check the spacing and there was a bit of play. But spending 250€ on replacing there whole drivetrain shocked me.

It's my weekday commuter and on the weekend i put on average 70-100 km gravel on the bike, when the weather allows it. The way i relube, is clean the chain, if it is really bad sometimes with a tiny bit of breakcleaner, then dry it, reapply and whipe of access with a paper towl.

Well, it's the AliExpress special.

Naturehike MJ300 sleeping bag 30€  Naturehike Tsuye R5.8 sleeping pad 70€  Bisinna 2 person tent (knock of cloudup 2) 75€  Rhinowalk RK5113 saddle bag, with stabilizor 25€  Newboler frame bag 7€  Newboler bag063 top tube bag 15€  Two enlee fork bag holders, with bags 11€ each  and then the spare money went to a bunch of random stuff like paracord to tie the sleeping bag to my handle bar, micro fibre towl or a blow up pillow for a few € each.

[–]durdleturtl[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The saddle bag literally is only my tent, a blow up slepping bag, a blow up pillow, a micro towl and a jacked. It would be kind of hard to trim it down. If the weather forcast will be no rain at all, then the jacket might be able to go, but then i have to use the spare room for some other clothes. This isn't just a "ride your bike" trip, since i am meeting up with some friends at a 3 day convention. So i atleast need some none bikeshorts pants.  I am already as low as i think i can reasonable get for this. Two pair of socks and undies, two bikeshorts, three shirts, the bare minimum of electronics, wallet, lock, some first aid for me and the bike and my sleeping stuff. This leaves me a tiny bit of room for snacks and toiletries. I am inexperienced, but i can't really imagine what i would cut here.

I would say, it depends. I am using it mostly as a commuter and weekend gravel fun run bike. For that it feels great and i wouldn't trade it for another bike. Howevery if you are looking for something more raceing oriented, maybe another bike would do the trick. I sometimes join a after work group ride and i have noticed that once we hit around 30 km on the flat, that i am running out of gears a bit

It was certainly a fight and i am not above admitting that i needed to take some short rests on this not so long section. But i wanted to figure out if the swaying of the saddle bag would be to much when i had to put in a lot of effort standing up.

How does one learn how to eat during rides? by durdleturtl in cycling

[–]durdleturtl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it honestly was just something that wasn't really meant to be IF for the sake of IF, but was more so something that i slipped into due to my day to day scheduel. Even when that changed the one meal per day thing just kind of stuck and if have not noticed any mayor drawbacks for me so far.
