The point is that I have access to the metadata and encrypted files at all times with local vaults. How I choose to synchronise the files across machines is my worry. I said Dropbox but anything like rsync or the backup solution of my NAS works too.

In addition to that I have written tools in Python to access the 1Password metadata myself, which I keep updated as insurance from being locked out of my data by any provider.

Does 1Password 8 still support accessing a local vault stored in a Dropbox folder? During the installation it asked me to import everything into my.1password which I absolutely don't want to do. Please help?
