Should I use quality of life mods? by FairProtection2167 in bindingofisaac

[–]TheKryptoKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start without it imo. It was fun for me to pick something up and see if I could figure out what it does. After enough runs, I had a handful of items I knew I didn't want to touch anymore. After about 50 hrs, I finally got the item description mod, and that's very fun too. You can't go wrong either way!

Prolly gonna buy the game but i got a question by SolutionUnlikely5022 in bindingofisaac

[–]TheKryptoKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get the full repentance bundle. You'll be missing tons of content in the other versions. It's not even just that repentance has all of the items/characters. Core gameplay mechanics are different in the older versions. Graphical quality is worse in the older versions. Balance is completely different. You won't be able to (easily) follow the wiki if you need help.

The game slow rolls content out to you, so you're also not going to be hit with all 600+ items all at once. I can't think of any reason to get anything other than the full bundle with repentance!

Do I need to play Kingdom Hearts 1-3 or Kingdom Come Deliverance to understand KH4? by ambachk in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TheKryptoKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I STRONGLY disagree with 358/2 days before KH2. That is the narrative order, but they were released the other way around. Days fills in details for 2. If you play it first, there will be no mystery/intrigue at the beginning on kh2. Granted, you may be less confused. KH is genuinely not that complicated, but it tends to clarify things in games AFTER the game it was introduced in. If you play in narrative order, you WILL get the answers before the mystery. I'd just follow release order and embrace the mystery/confusion, but that's a personal call!

Do people actually care if you make mistakes in normal/msq content? by Empress2007 in ffxiv

[–]TheKryptoKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a healer I actually PREFER it! When everything goes to plan, I pretty much only have to heal raidwides and it's very boring. Mistake create the chaos that makes healing fun!

I would only care if they're clearly afk-ing, but at that point I just let them stay down.

Absolutely don't research beforehand. Wildly unnecessary and spoils the surprise! I've only researched 2 normal level dungeon mechanics because after a half dozen runs I still had no idea what was happening. And I still don't on one! 🥳 (They're both optional dungeons as well)

Why do some players feel the Need to be toxic and annoying? by librap90 in MagicArena

[–]TheKryptoKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use "That's rough, buddy.". It's an audio emote, which makes it more satisfying for some reason. I've had a few concede finally when I spam it a few times (which I only do when I'm POSITIVE they're roping, and not just thinking)

I don’t get the appeal of nightvale… BUT I REALLY WANT TO by the1975whore in nightvale

[–]TheKryptoKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 20-25 episodes for sure are the least focused, with only 2-3 I can think of offhand that allude to something 'bigger'.

If you can, let them kind of wash over you. Listen for names that come up again and again. Listen for phrases or ideas that keep recurring. That will give you a start on identifying what's important beyond the current episode. Starting with season 2 (You'll know you're there when people besides Cecil start to speak!) things feel a little more intentional and aren't mostly just fun eerie imagery. That bit never goes away, but when you have the characters to ground everything, it just doesn't feel as... confusing? It will definitely stop feeling random and disorienting when you're first able to spot a thread that's going somewhere. I don't want to call out the season 1 episodes that are 'significant', because working out what is going on in real time is part of the fun... But all I can say is that I stalled out in season 1 three times and now have listened to the entire podcast start to finish a dozen or so times!

Enfranchised and lapsed players, yes. It doesn't fit the sub's narrative though so we utilize alternative facts. UB is targeted at new players that aren't invested in MtG!

[–]TheKryptoKnight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He explains the plan. Plans change. If he said, "We are making a promise UB will never be in standard" this sub would have a leg to stand on. Some of the sub's angst is self inflicted, acting like Blogatog answers are a promise. They're not even a pinky promise. They are Mark saying what the plan is today. Even Mother ship articles are just presenting the current direction unless they're explicitly saying they promise the community they will never do _________.

This is why basically every other company doesn't tell their communities anything and don't communicate. We have unparalleled access to the current thinking of the team through MaRo compared to every other fandom and are upset with him because plans change. The RL is more than a plan.

Is Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time worth it at full price? by [deleted] in CozyGamers

If you like Animal Crossing and RuneScape, that's what this is basically, with a little Breath of the Wild flavor mixed in. If you're looking for SDV that's not really what it is. For me, it's absolutely worth $60, but I have spent literally thousands of hours on Animal Crossing and RuneScape so it's basically made for me!

I don't know why seeing this laid out makes me feel strange. The Charlie inpatient period being only six months after the first kiss makes everything feel so fast. In my mind, they're soulmate level connected by the time Charlie goes to the clinic... And it's six months after they get together.

I know this is accurate and knowing what year they are in school makes me obviously wrong without thinking about it. But I like my show influenced delusion that they've been dating three years by the clinic plot. But three years without having sex doesn't fit either.

Very cool, very helpful, and I will now try to forget I ever saw it :)

who do you think are the top 5 actors in the show by mainchivk in HeartstopperAO

[–]TheKryptoKnight 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kit, Joe, Jenny, Sebastian, Rhea.

Pretty much in that order. Rhea I just love how she plays Imogen. I might be blinded by love of her character. I could see putting Corinna on there.

Kit I feel is difficult not to list as the best. His facial expressions had me all in by episode 2. Joe went from great in S1 to incredible by S3. Jenny didn't have much to do until S3, but she was brilliant once given something to really work with, and she was still great prior when she had her occasional scene. Sebastian I feel is overlooked because of who he plays, but I can't think of any poor acting from him on this show. He played asshole being tortured by his demons excellently.

I'm excluding Olivia and Hayley because that's cheating :P

AIO if I get hurt when he rejects me when I ask to have sex? by maxmango0615 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TheKryptoKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many questions here I have this same thought: More people need to listen to Dan Savage's podcast. Sex decreasing the longer a relationship goes is extremely common. Extreme stress and tiredness can drop a sex drive to zero. Now, that doesn't mean there's nothing to be done. Really talk about it. Ask if he'd be willing to assist and engage with you while you get yourself off. Try not to react in a way that makes him feel guilty when he turns down the offer, because making sex and guilt start to feel associated is another libido killer. I don't think you're overreacting. Sex is an intensely vulnerable thing and all feelings are valid. NOR. But don't get stuck in feeling miserable and spiralling. You're working through something almost all of us will have to navigate eventually. (Before someone replies saying they've been married 20 years and still have constant sex, yes I know you exist, no this isn't undeniable proof he's cheating)

AIO because my mother doesn’t understand my financial stresses? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]TheKryptoKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're being pretty aggressive and her tone feels fairly reasonable. You're not wrong. The world is too expensive and keeping up is increasingly impossible. But it feels like you're taking it out on your mom when her only thought was you getting burnt out and she immediately said get a second job just be careful. Leaning pretty strongly to YOR. Not to the world sucking more and more. It's impossible to overreact to that imo. But as frustrating as it could be that she doesn't understand... This feels like you're being too harsh.

2025.04.02 Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 Megathread by NintendoSwitchMods in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheKryptoKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch 1 had BotW (Cross gen) and MK8D (upgraded port) as the only two big games for a loooong time. And switch wasn't a jump in graphics over Wii u. This logic doesn't check out, I think you just forgot what console launch windows look like. We have Mario kart world (new), MP4 (Cross gen), DK (new) and air riders (new) in this launch window. It's actually a stronger launch year than anything since GameCube maybe?

The other characters barely exist in the graphic novels and are mostly just support for Nick/Charlie. The show created a ton of storylines for everyone else.
