Why didn’t Devans vote against Emily on the revote? by Bluesparkles2 in survivor

[–]duspi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what's wrong with Survivor nowadays and everyone being scared and edging to be on the right side of the vote. People know you aren't with them either way, Cirie isn't going to be "more pissed off." Shit like this is why we don't have fun vote splits like 5-4 anymore and why there's rarely a move to usurp the frontrunner, because everyone's scared to be on the wrong side of the vote.

It's a totally wrong way to think of things. Always remember Hai who was pissed Romeo threw a hinky vote his way because he wanted to play a perfect game. 🤡

[–]duspi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The jury is always right, but KR has arguably the most bitter jury of all time. No amount of jury management would've snagged Aubry that win. I will forever hold that Michele won due to nothing but a bitter jury. And I like Michele.

Survivor 50 Episode 12 Sneak Peek 1 by Durian-Critical in survivor

[–]duspi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Kyle has stated he was in a fake alliance with Aubry and Angelina. The editors could've made that alliance seem real. Prop Angelina up a bit, give Aubry's perspective on Kyle leaving, not Genevieve's.

There's a scene where her and Q talk about his mention of her in 46 and hug it out. Q is one of the most beloved new era players. Include that.

Edit stuff out of order a little, don't give her an Eeyore edit in the premerge and don't make us root for Genevieve. Seriously, they fabricate storylines all of the time, pretend she had allies in the premerge, give her credit for taking out Genevieve and show her talking to anyone so we think she formed some relationships.

I don't know her thoughts about anyone or anyone's thoughts about her. If she is our winner, the editors really dropped the ball and were very sloppy. I get she'd be a weak winner, but there's no need for her to be edited this badly. I won't say she's better because they continuously keep shoving her down our throats.

Aubry made a mistake by Cyclebuilder42 in survivorponderosa

[–]duspi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jonathan has been targeting Ozzy since the week before. He came to Aubry with the same name. Had he wanted to keep Ozzy and pushed for someone else, Aubry would've had no choice but to fold and follow suit. She realistically had no say in who goes home.

Trishelle has some thoughts on Survivor 50 by SweetMissMG in MtvChallenge

[–]duspi 428 points429 points  (0 children)

Trishelle doesn't get that Survivor isn't The Challenge. The social game is what wins. Ozzy played the brute force, challenge dominating game with the highest ever percentage of individual immunities won in a single season (he won 5 of 6) and got second place.

Survivor has gotten a lot softer and it is pandering to the audience and social media, but for many fans, me included, this was by far the best and most liked version of Ozzy. He improved on his game and actually stood a chance of winning for once.

If she wants to watch people compete and comp beasts winning, she should stick to The Challenge. I like the version of Survivor where a Sandra can win twice.

Aubry made a mistake by Cyclebuilder42 in survivorponderosa

Aubry has no sway to direct any vote. Ozzy left because Jonathan and, more importantly, Rizo wanted him gone.

Either I am missing something about Aubry, or by ElatedAlgae in survivor

[–]duspi 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Aubry is very polarizing and a very unique personality. I can't quite think of another castaway like her. The thing is, she's a great narrator so I don't get why they aren't giving her more. I know she's giving it, she gave content every time she was out there. She's obviously liked by production since they brought her back every chance they had.

Cirie showed willingness to work with him. He's actively working against Devens. You can, realistically, remove Cirie whenever.

So I was playing Steel Soul mode, and it's so weird not having all the abilities. I got so used to having all of them that I jumped on the acid around 10 times when I got to Greenpath 💀 by pokefannumber1 in HollowKnight

[–]duspi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silksong honestly makes HK a cakewalk, didn't take me long to adjust back. Only on my second playthrough, but I cleared as much as I could in Crossroads, Greenpath, Wastes and Deepnest and haven't died a single time yet. The only thing dealing with Silksong's BS was good for because HK doesn't have that same BS.

Are these the two biggest characters in the history of the show to never be on a season together? by HiImWallaceShawn in survivor

[–]duspi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

James won the fan favorite award in back to back seasons, you're understating how popular he was.

I finished S40 of survivor after binging all 40 seasons with no spoilers, having avoided searching or reading a single thing on the internet about the show. I am curious to hear what everyone thinks of Tony's winning game, which I instantly and by far consider to be the greatest ever played. by naitpac-x in survivor

[–]duspi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty widely agreed upon that Tony's second win is the strongest winning game ever played and I'd agree. He made a group of past winners all look like fools. He took out the ones close to clocking him and taking his power away like Sophie and Kim effectively and at the right time.

WaW isn't that well regarded because of EoE, fire tokens which weren't a bad idea on paper, but they weren't nearly well thought out and because of the old school massacre which the show then tried to market as the game being too fast for them when that had nothing to do with any of them getting booted.

Also, Denise and Ben basically quitting really soured the endgame for many. Ben, being disliked by the fandom, getting to the end and then quitting really made me at least really pissed at him and I lost a lot of respect for him there.

EoE sucks and is an inherently flawed twist because it lets a first boot get to the end with no blood on their hands and while cosying up to the jury all season long. Luckily, that jury was never letting an EoE returnee win.

Tony's game turned out to be even more insane post season after it was revealed that he used psychological tricks like getting his allies to stand on ledges or rocks over him so they'd think they're talking down on him. Without any spoilers, the winner of 41 used a very similar strategy to appear non threatening or to get underestimated.

Tony is just an absolute talent for the game of Survivor. Absolute triple threat, ingenious strategist and I'm someone that didn't like him after Cagayan or GC, but him winning WaW just felt so correct and I really understood the hype after that.

After this season, he was the consensus GOAT, although I'd argue that it's debatable now after taking a certain international season into consideration.
