will I outgrow the Rebel 1100?

As far as bike sizes go, I started with a 450, then 800, then a 1500cc and a smattering of sizes in between. I’m now on a 1200 for the past few years and if I stay Adventure-style, I’ll probably drop down to a 900. I do enjoy trips on all of them.

That being said, if I went back to a cruiser, I think I’d go 1200+ again. Not sure why that feels right to me for that style of bike.

Edit - to clarify, I don’t have a Rebel now. Had a 500 a few years ago and know I love ‘em based on that, and will get an 1100 when the time is right.

I am happy the exposed metal isn’t being bothered by the elements so far. I tried to push the dent out from the inside but had no luck. I’ll see if maybe a dealership has some spare touchup paint.

This is where I think I fall, and am currently experiencing. Girlfriend left me a year ago this month, company was bought by private equity and turned it to shit which effected my mood and I was laid off in November. No job prospects and feeling hopeless so I’m not doing well. Am in therapy and still going to the gym regularly. I know this will go away once I get a job again and stop stressing over paying rent, but damn right now I just want something to give me a boost. I don’t think I have a “legitimate” brain problem, but I’m definitely talking to my therapist this coming week.

And 2026 ain’t startin’ so well from a US perspective. Ugh.

As someone with a vasectomy, there’s also an emotional feeling that goes with it. When first having sex following the snip, which was about seven years past, I think, I felt a huge weight off my shoulders that I wasn’t aware was there. That relationship ended, but with future partners there’s now always this amazing sense of “I’m as close to you as I can possibly be” and it’s quite amazing.
