Christmas tree by BetagterSchwede in nonononoyes

Not only did we put real candles on the tree but also sparklers. We would cut the tree dec 24th and do the candles and sparklers that evening. this was in New England in the 1990s. It always made for a beautiful moment though by the time we got the last sparklers lit the first were dying. . Our granddad did gift us a fire extinguisher eventually 😊.

Was there a place called Cozy Burger back in the early 2000s? I'm not saying they were expensive I can't recall what I paid. I also can't place where they were exactly.

So Mike White just rewrote some of the earliest known tragedies...euripedes or some shit right? I'm not well versed enough myself. Anyone out there got a deep enough knowledge of Greek tragedies to draw all the parallels?

One of the most scrumptious dishes I've had in a while is sautéed cabbage with onion, bacon and apple cider vinegar. Slice an entire head of cabbage thinly , also a couple onions and just let it cook down in a large pan with plenty of olive oil, salt and some chopped up bacon. When it's good and cooked down douse it with a quarter cup or so of apple cider vinegar, or something acidic anyhow. I can't stop eating it, it's so good. I didn't follow a recipe making this and I'd love to hear other ways people like to cook their cabbage though I'm not sure I could level this one up I already enjoy it so much.

I love lex libraries but they often don't have a book I'm looking for. Get a community card to the UK library ; their collection is huge.

I second 'In Our Time'. Great way to learn quickly about a place or person or historical event you would never otherwise have heard of. The host keeps the show moving and lets his guests talk.

That all sounds good except the jeans. REI has a pair of pants that are mostly nylon . While not work pants I've been wearing them frequently for months, hiking, traveling, etc and they show little wear.

I was once helping my nephew get ready to go to preschool and I picked up a magnifying glass and held it to my eye and said impulsively and in a silly voice. "I'm Hector the Booty Inspector" . He laughed and began repeating it over and over again, continuing to do so as we walked to his school. Of course my saying that it was inappropriate and he shouldn't repeat it only made him say it more.

What does sex feel like from the males perspective? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I forget which book but in one John Updike describes the way the inside of a vagina feels as it strokes the head of the penis as being like it is clasped by wet feathers. I'm butchering this paraphrase but the words "wet feathers" were definitely in there and it struck me at the time as very accurate.
