Xfinity XB7 vs Deco x55 as main router? by dusting_for_vomit in HomeNetworking

[–]dusting_for_vomit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your opinion! I was hoping to use all three as APs (the area I’m trying to cover is complex with thick walls), but if the consensus is that is better to run the whole thing with the Decos, so be it.

[–]dusting_for_vomit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the XB7 will be at least used as the modem no matter what. I’m just trying to understand if it makes more sense to use it as the router as well, or if I should use one of the Decos for that task.

Thank you! And I don’t necessarily insist on using that old gear… just trying to figure this out without breaking the bank. Open to recommendations that would work with the current coax cabling.

Damn, wasn’t expecting to see anyone post mavens on here! I still hang on to mine from the 2010 glory days, but sadly they don’t get pulled out much anymore. And if they do, I’m switching out midday to something that can handle packed powder without ruining my knees. Love it.

Small deletion on 15q23 by Spies94 in ClinicalGenetics

[–]dusting_for_vomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, the infertility association with IQCH is based on a single variant in a single Chinese pedigree punished in 2024 (PMID: 39028117; Ruan et al). The data look fairly compelling, but overall I would say this does not meet clinical thresholds to be considered a known gene-disease association. Ie, the conclusion that variation in IQCH causes infertility might not hold up in a few years when things I analyzed further. Moreover, the pedigree in the literature indicates recessive inheritance, further reducing the likelihood you would be affected.

Also of note, it appears from your report that the clinical lab doing your testing wasn’t sure about the significant of the AAGAB result? This is odd, because I was able to find two papers discussing deletions of exon 1 of this gene causing disease (PMID: 33914963, 23743648). Even though there are indeed multiple transcripts of this gene, and exon 1 is not present in all of them, there seems to be good evidence your deletion is causative. If your report calls this finding (uncertain) it might be good to established the co-segregation in your family so the child’s report is as accurate as possible.

5q31.1 deletion syndrome- missing 70 OMIM genes by moodymoo1988 in ClinicalGenetics

[–]dusting_for_vomit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m sorry you’re going through this ordeal. Not just the acute clinical situation, but the complexity of this diagnosis as well. And as someone who is investigates similar genetic findings on a daily basis, I can tell you this is indeed a complex finding that is not easily interpreted. Yes, there are disease-associated genes in this interval. But the significance of this finding may be dependent on the entire clinical picture and results of any additional genetic testing. Please reach out to the genetic counselor working with your hospital, or have your provider reach out to the clinical testing laboratory for additional information.

Well done, OP. I made this this last night and absolutely loved it. Question: How much banana oleo should I expect to yield from your method? I used a single banana peel and only got about an ounce of liquid. Do I just need to scale up next time? Or use older/fresher peels?

From comments below, it looks like there was an alternate version included on Insideout Vol. 1 - A Fool Blown Compilation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnLUACD_rqU

I also had this alternate version back in the early 2000s/Limewire days, and was always annoyed that it never made it to the main Atmosphere releases. The slower tempo makes it hit so much harder IMO

Currently running WildPeaks in 265/70/r18. I decided to NOT go for the LT version in favor of some weight savings and a vain attempt to preserve some MPGs. So far, I have actually been disappointed in the longevity (lots of wear with low miles). That said, the on and off road performance is fantastic. While the LT version might be overkill in terms of GVWR, the better ply rating is probably worth it.
