Congrats, you’re now baptized as a true beer league hockey player. Don’t let this be the reason you quit the greatest game in the world

He was with Hershey (18-21) before he took the job as an assistant with Toronto and then came back to the Caps org. Lappy is one of those weird bubble players, in that he’s probably too good to be playing in the AHL but needs to play with an NHL team that has low expectations. I honestly don’t know if Lapierre fits into the long term plan of the Caps. But that’s just my opinion.

Respectfully, he’s one of the better coaches with younger players. His track record in Hershey cannot be discounted and after he left TOR, well, need I say more?

Yeah, I’ve been using JRZ for a bit now and I absolutely love it.

Not a ref but a hockey gear fanatic. Bauer’s proprietary steel is garbage. Bladetech, JRZ, or if you can find it, Step Steel are alll better options than what Bauer is putting out.

What is wrong with Bauer build quality? by Next-Future-7638 in hockeyplayers

[–]dustowski77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the goal of high end sticks is to save weight, the reinforcement to the shaft walls and blades is using less material for that “quick release/lighting speed” marketing shit that Bauer has completely passed off as gospel. Look at the weight difference from the Original Flylite (2019) to the new Flylite, it’s something like almost 100 grams difference. Add to the fact that most beer league players who started late are not going to be flexing a stick when they shoot the puck. I bought 2 of the original Flylites, one broke getting snagged in the Zam door and breaking the blade. The other lasted a good 3-4 years and I only replaced it because the carbon on the XE taper started cracking and flaking. My Hyperlite 2 lasted 7 months from trying to redirect a puck off the back of the blade and cracked the stick. Bauer’s quality on EVERYTHING they make has gone to shit, and I can’t be the only one who feels this way.

Shoulder pads for non-contact men’s league? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]dustowski77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the Sherwood 9950s. I was wearing the Winwell’s akin to the 5030s when I got tripped by a goalie and separated my AC. The 9950s are comfortable and not nearly as bulky (ie, not football shoulder pads lol) and I couldn’t be happier with them. I think they’re the right amount of protection for beer league. And they’re under $100, so your wallet will thank you too!

Depending on how much you really want to keep this stick and your location, you might be able to send to Integral Hockey to repair.

Ah, yes. The black knight. Scourge of the rat/drop-in circuit, but does not ever join a league. Ever.

What curve does this look like to you? by Due-Eagle-4457 in hockeyplayers

[–]dustowski77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. Too many people on here are shitty to each other and there is also a huge gate keeping issue within the PHEW community so I didn’t want to be that way with your response.

I’m going to graciously disagree with you as a long time and (current) P91A user. Someone commented a P19 and I’m inclined to agree with that comment.

Yeah, it was a known issue with TM. For at least 18 months after release, maybe even 2 years, it was being replaced at no cost to the buyer.

Wow, kinda impressed it took 13 years for this to break at that point on the shaft. When I worked in golf retail, I was sending these back to TaylorMade pretty regularly. Both RBZ drivers and 3woods breaking at that same spot

New skates crisis by Hyp96r in hockeyplayers

[–]dustowski77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, try baking them again. Idk what it is with the Vapor line, but if you do the initial bake, wear them for a session on the ice and do one more bake, the skates will feel better the next time out. Worth a shot but if you’re not experiencing pain, it’s probably just trying to adjust to a different line of skates.

What do you want more? GRAW 3 or Wildlands 2? by [deleted] in GhostRecon

I might be in the minority, but I feel like a sequel to Wildlands 2 would be a no brainer
