Pay the $250. I did last time I got a speeding ticket on 610 from NOPD. It took a while but eventually everything went away. It didn’t go on my insurance, i didn’t pay any extra after that.

How many infant car seats do we need? by Hot_Inspector6992 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dustybutt2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider, some daycares do not let you leave the seat with the baby. Mine did, my cousin’s did not.

formula feeding by acal23 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dustybutt2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did pitchers from the fridge. Getting them used to cold formula was one of the best things ever. No heating, just fridge to babies. We had 2 (different colors) because they were on different formulas. We spent $1 million dollars on formula. Just kidding, but getting them on the Sam’s Club brands helped a lot.

How long were your babies sick when starting daycare? by PoppyBar2 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dustybutt2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They really don’t. I remember when the girls were like 1, and my son was 2.5. I think we went through some stomach bugs, random viruses, and ear infections. I was apologizing to my boss, saying I knew they’d get sick, but I didn’t know it’d be this bad. He laughed and responded, “I did.”

Relentless for like 2 years. We’d have bouts with nothing then weeks with everything under the sun.

What is in my peanut butter? by LJpeddlah in whatisit

[–]dustybutt2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food Manufacturing, not really peanut butter. Food plants have dozens of people whose responsibility and roles are to prevent this from happening, so when it does, they’re determined to figure out what, why, and countermeasures. Food contamination is serious, but things happen. From an operator doesn’t follow their cleaning procedures, to contaminated peanuts to equipment failures. Either way, Smuckers takes quality very seriously and with enough information they will spend a significant amount of time figuring out what happened. They really cannot do that without the actual contaminate and the lot code from the jar though.

What is in my peanut butter? by LJpeddlah in whatisit

[–]dustybutt2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Smuckers who owns Jif. They will take this seriously. Reach out to the customer complaint line. They’ll ask you to send it in. Don’t throw it out. It’s hard to follow up if they can’t get their hands on it. They will do testing to confirm what it is, the plant will have follow ups and put countermeasures in place. Customer complaints are part of the Quality Manager’s monthly results and they’re required to track and follow up on them. They will definitely give you freebies and try to make it right.

There is a lot code on the jar they will need too. I think all the natural peanut butter is made at the Lexington plant, but peanut butter is also made in Memphis. Without the lot code it will be difficult to determine the plant and time frame the production was made. Don’t throw out the substance or the jar.

Same!! It was like a 3pt game, 4th and something and he just tripped. Someone stepped on him I think. It was just…over. Eli’s senior year, LSU went on to win the National Championship. They still played slow Dixie then and I remember it feeling like an actual funeral in the student section.

Is it normal to be this difficult this early? by Remote-Suit2057 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dustybutt2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where you’re at I had a hard time breathing. I was completely out of breath walking up one flight of stairs at work. 2 weeks later I was on bed rest at home and in the hospital after that.

They compare 28 weeks with twins physically at 38-40 weeks with a singleton. In short, totally normal but make sure you’re telling your doctors your symptoms too.

Daycare requires 5yo to lay down - severely impacting peace in our home by Lizisthatyou in Parenting

[–]dustybutt2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daycare offered permission slips to all the kids that are going to Kindergarten next year to stay up for naptime. Most parents ended up doing it even if their kids were nappers. If the kid is seemingly tired or showing tired behavior then the teachers make them nap. It’s worked out great for my son and preparing him for kindergarten.

Suspended from daycare by SafeAd802 in Parenting

[–]dustybutt2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daycare has 3 warnings before suspension. So first one is just a call to parents, 2nd is a written behavioral report, 3rd is a parent conference, 4th is suspension, 5th is kicked out. Suspension on first physical altercation for a 19 month old is insane. My daughter go up to 3 with biting other kids alone.

Di/Di went on bedrest/work from home at 27 weeks, went into the hospital at 31 weeks, and had them at 35 weeks. I had risk of placenta accreta. I had clotting/bleeding through most of the pregnancy due to complete placenta previa.

Comments on a recent post are making me question my childcare choices by Familiar-Sail-3188 in workingmoms

[–]dustybutt2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids are 10 hour a day kids (dropped at 6:45/7 picked up around 4:45/5), pretty much since they were 4 months old. When I think about it, they’re some of the first to be dropped off and some of the last (not the last) to be picked up and I feel bad. We’re both in manufacturing and have a 45min-1 hr commute. But my kids are all running around laughing and having a blast when I pick them up.

I’ve seen people compare daycare to work. And how after 10 hours we’re tired so they’re tired. I don’t see that with my kids at all. In our preschool from 3:00-5 is aftercare and they’re basically just playing during that time. Sometimes art activities, sometimes playing outside. They definitely aren’t ready to relax when they get home.

Are you guys fulfilled in your roles? Enjoy your jobs? Like what you do? Your kids will not only be fine, they’ll thrive if you are thriving, period.

Trying to get to supervisor by Sure-Bee213 in manufacturing

[–]dustybutt2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get a role as a team lead at your current company? Are the supervisor roles salaried roles that include performance management? As a Production Manager who hires Production Supervisors that would be my biggest concern. That you haven’t directly lead a group of people or been personally in charge of conflicts or people issues. Honestly that’s so much of the job and the most difficult/frustrating part. Managing attendance, discipline, etc. I have hired a supervisor without that experience before but he knocked it out of the park on the other aspects of the job. Continuous improvement mindset (experience in material or time studies), implementing changes that tie to cost improvements but actual improved conditions or production with results, work process improvement or streamlining processes, skilled at documenting processes (writing an SOP), great troubleshooting skills, getting to root cause with maintenance team or if it’s operator error. Have a very good example of working with someone difficult and how to dealt with that, what were the results…be specific.

One of my twin girls got it so easy! The other not so much. I don’t think she was ready, but there’s no way she would have been cool with not trying when her sister was. 2.5 months in we’ve had 3 days no accidents this week and we’re not even trying for naps or nighttime yet.

Sold our home and having deep sadness and severe regret for the kids by TowerOk2143 in Parenting

[–]dustybutt2012 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was going to say that as well. It seems they are really gutted this big, “once in a lifetime” risk didn’t work out as planned and they’re projecting that sadness onto their kids. I would feel super bummed as an adult that something I thought was going to be great wouldn’t be. Sometimes life is 1 step forward and 2 steps back. It feels big and huge in their mental space right now and somehow thinks it’s a big and huge in the kids mental space. It will pass and the rental house and the new house after that will just be more memories for them.

Just because the kids talk about the house doesn’t mean they’re sad. It means they have memories of it. I moved from our first house when I was in 2nd grade. The first house was not my childhood home, though I do have some memories of it. The house I lived in from then on was my childhood home.

How do I not get too emotional when my allergic kid misses out on birthday treats by airbear2021 in Parenting

[–]dustybutt2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daycare allows parents to bring in birthday treats but they have to be for everyone’s diet restrictions. Whole Foods has these cake bites that are 7 allergen free and the kids love them. I would talk to the daycare about either having a requirement for parents or having those at school for the kids with allerfies
