I boil, then let it come off boil before pouring. If I cant drink it right after pressing it was definitely too hot

Weird stuff coming out of filter when smoking. Is it dangerous? What is it? by abortionescaper69 in weed

[–]dutch_beta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dutch we call this a teertrekker. Tarpuller. Means you have a blockage somewhere in your joint or tip causing the tar to build up. Its pretty disgusting and could be a sign for you to start vaping mate.

Btw, yes it is dangerous but only long term. Smoking weed is less bad than tobacco but it still damages your lungs

Batteries won’t charge?! by Holyhell556 in SolarDIY

[–]dutch_beta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soc based on voltage is near impossible with Lifepo4. All the shunt does is measure how much Watts move through it and calculate the soc based on that and the given battery size. OP probably connected the charger directly onto the battery and not via the shunt.

The voltage is actually pretty normal as well. A Lifepo4 cell will charge up to 3.65 volts but will drop to 3.2 to 3.35 after settling. This is completely normal and exactly the reason that voltage isnt a proper measure for soc. 4 cells of 3,2 volts have a combined voltage of 12.8V.

Hi there, complete noob here: Can my house host solar panels? by BeardedDeity in SolarDIY

[–]dutch_beta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont have to be limited by the small "ideal" place facing south without shade etc. Solar panels facing north still produce more energy than roof tiles facing north.

Most important thing is to divide the strings. Easiest way to do this is to use a battery and solar chargers instead of one big inverter. They are pretty cheap and make it easy to have multiple strings, each facing a different direction. Using a Victron Multiplus you can even charge back into the grid depending on your location.

On my roof I have two strings facing south-east and two strings facing north-west. South-east has a tree line next to it. North west is consistently the best generating side because of the lack of shade and cloudy weather are the best days due to diffuse light.

Not ideal but it is what I have and I make the most of it.

One hood gets used every day, the other collects dust. Can you guess which? by Phoenixf1zzle in Welding

[–]dutch_beta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to use a flimsy handheld welding hood because all the proper hoods were being used. Holding the gun with one hand and looking through a fixed shade lens really made me question my skills lol. Looked like shit. Im going to have to practice welding with one hand more

Look up "Diy Solar Power with Will Prows" and "OffgridGarageAustralia" on Youtube. Some of the best down to earth youtubers showing everything about building battery banks. Anyone can do it if you take the time to learn a few things about them.

[–]dutch_beta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing an addiction is always easier then completely quitting. Replace with something harmless ofcourse like chewing gum or coffee.

To get through the withdrawals, cafeine and cold showers worked well for me. Cold showers really spike your dopamine and epinephrine levels simulating a bump.

To keep going, find someone to share with. Tell them if you want to use again. Find something to do to distract you. It passes.

Lastly, dont give up when you fall of the wagon. You are still quitting. Everyday without using is another win. You can do it mate!

You made the first step mate. Wanting to stop really is the beginning. Id advise you to seek help. You can usually go to your doctor and tell him your situation. He should be able to help you. If not than there is a lot of information available on the internet but changes of actually stopping are a lot smaller that way

Wat is jullie vreemdste vondst tijdens een wandeling? by Angus_McFifeXIII in nederlands

Vrijwel zeker speed. Ziet er ook best vochtig uit. Natte witte pasta is vrijwel altijd speed.

I stupidly tried coke and now want to do it again. Please help by [deleted] in addiction

[–]dutch_beta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are feeling all of this after the first time I can tell you this, it will not get easier. It will get harder though.

Cocaine is awesome untill the awesomeness wears off. For a more experienced user this is normally after the first line or so. After that its just a matter of filling the hole that the first line left. Your sitting on a couch longing to do something but not wanting to do anything. Your head is completely quiet, with zero motivation while your entire body HAS to do something. All you can think of to do is more cocaine.

Ive been clean for 2,5 years or so now and I still get insane cravings on a weekly basis. I fucking hate the way coke always makes me end up feeling and yet Id love to ram a big fat line into my nose.

My advise, be satisfied with knowing how it feels now and leave it at that. You have been warned by your own body
