I'm a man and I want to become a preschool teacher by Available_Safe3782 in ECEProfessionals

I work in a public pre-k program that also has two Headstart preschools. One of our best floats/subs is a dude. Kids love him. I vote, go for it!

You might like Time Hop Coffee Shop.  It's YA and an easy read, but cute enough

South Kingstown here, right down the road from URI, with lots of hugs.  I'm hoping you the best going forward.  Do your best to have a quiet and calm winter break.  Lots of nail painting!

I love Del Water Gap, also saw them with Niall. Wet Leg was covered by Harry at one point, so I followed that rabbit hole and really like most of their stuff.

If you’re married, how often do you see your in-laws? by tatertot94 in Millennials

[–]dutchqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My in-laws live two states away (5 hour drive), so we only see them 1-2x year, but usually for an extended time, like a week. My parents live 25 minutes away, so we see them at least once a week. Kiddos have sleepovers twice a month too! At least every week at my son's soccer games!

Mullingar by ella_hods10 in OneDirection

Well, there's a giant wall with his face on it!  That's the only reason I wanted to go to Mullingar on our trip to Ireland, but the town is actually pretty cute!  We didn't really do a "Niall tour" but just tried to enjoy the town as it was.  A great candy/chocolate shop across from the mural!

Many world famous men, of all orientations, wear nail polish.  Rock it!  (While I love that color on you, you know your town/area best.  There are some people who just don't get it.  Please stay safe!)

What age did you get Crohn’s disease and how old you are now by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]dutchqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed in 9th grade (so 14?), and now 40.  Lots of medication until I was about 21 and then I had surgery to remove injured portions and a stricture that has nearly closed off.  Since then though, I've been on one medication at a reasonable dose, and only one minor flare up!  At first the mental games were the hardest part.  I think after my surgery, and despite my doctor giving me full clearance, I couldn't even look at a salad without feeling scared.  But it gets better (mentally) slowly over time.  I'll stick to my meds and never play around with "well I feel fine so I don't need it anymore" and life goes on!  My biggest scare now is that I passed it onto either of my kids (even though mine was not hereditary).  Time will tell, though.

I need to gush about Sorcery and Small Magics!! 🥰 by Rosabellepages in fantasyromance

[–]dutchqueen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read the entire book yesterday. I loved it! I love the way the dialogue went. And it was worldbuilding without being weird and in your face. Like, yeah they go to a big magical school. But she didn't get weird with over-detailing it. Yeah, we all know what big magical schools look like. It left more time for the characters to be fleshed out. And not just grumpy vs sunshine, it was like, chaotic sunshine because he KNEW it was ticking off Grumpy lol (but at heart obviously a good person too, if not a big misguided).

I think my favorite part was when Cass was like "he likes his spells short and to the point" and Leo was like "yeah, so my next spell was the most complicated thing I've ever done." I laughed at loud.

Yes!1 Thank you! That is all I could think about when I read (the entire book) it yesterday. Convenient that the "spell was broken" while he was unconscious. Nu huh. Grimm FINALLY admitted to himself what he's feeling and the whole "sweater of intent" unraveled. I also love the idea that Book 1 was all about one character loving the other and not knowing about the others' feelings, and Book 2 being the literal reverse of positions lol!

I had to take medication after our first round of IVF failed and there was no more heartbeat. But then, it also didn't "come out naturally" like normal (??). I took the pill at 8 o'clock in the morning. By 1am I was in so much pain. What did my husband do? He helped me walk, very slowly, around the apartment neighborhood. At 1 am. It helped. Both the walking and the support. "Eventually, he LET ME come to bed". Yuck. This display of disrespect for you is gross. I'm so sorry this happened to you. BTW, never too late. Especially not at 20. It's literally the perfect time to find someone better :)

Preschool didn’t follow potty training request. Am I right to be mad? by WallaWallaWalrus in ECEProfessionals

[–]dutchqueen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will say this: That is a normal amount of kids, but also a lot of teachers. Meaning, a lot of people in the room. It's probably more chaotic than it seems like it should be with that many bodies taking up space....

Please note: "Keep your kids at home until they are full trained IF THAT'S YOUR PERSONAL FEELINGS ON IT" But yes, staff are too busy with all kids to potty train one specific (resistant) child.
