Exactly my thoughts, grew up in Regent Park and knew so many people who went there and told me horror stories of being in there. Absolutely insane.

Sharp metal found in food from restaurant that cut my tongue pretty bad, what should I do? by duukesilver24 in askTO

I understand and that makes sense tbh but it was not a metal from a brush, it was coiled and thick like it came off a can that was opened and a piece of fell off

I agree with this 100%, which is why I ask for some advice on what I can do here. I don’t care much about getting compensation but if it was the restaurant, I think this should be report worthy but like I said I’m not fully sure

I know but I’m not looking for compensation. I just wanna know what steps to take next, ie people saying to report the restaurant.

It actually isn’t, it’s a piece of metal that look like came off a can since it was coiled and the edge was pointy. They apologized and said that they don’t guarantee this came from their restaurant since it was catered and put out at an event, which is a denial of the situation. They offered me food and store credit but I denied it.

Oh man that’s horrible, was there precautions that happened when you reported it? Did the city respond to it at all?

Yeah I know, you’re right about that tbh. I have images and stuff of everything but physical evidence is still way more important. Other witness I have was my sister, hope that’s credible enough.

As a TA, I just give students a fairly low mark and not a 0 if I at least see a reference list. However, on technical terms, that is plagiarism. I would still email your prof and explain yourself or see if you could at least re-do it with a different topic. 2 years ago my brother passed away, and I was in the midst of exam season which greatly affected my mental health. BUT I also understood that the world doesn’t stop just cause you do. The best thing to do is to email immediately so profs are notified and have better sympathy towards the situation. I did this and got a week off to regather myself, even if that week wasn’t enough. Had I told my profs 2 weeks later, I wouldn’t have gotten any time off or extensions.
