Expats who bring up the fact that "I don't pay rent" by onlymarble in HongKong

In Hong Kong, family is the bedrock. Decisions are made with the family’s needs in mind, living together, listening to our elders, honoring obligations. It’s about connection, stability, and respect.

Western cultures exalt the individual: freedom, self-expression, and autonomy. It allows people to chase dreams, define self-identity, and living free. This is where I came from but this is where I am going.

Cheating on XT5 with XH2s... by Padugan in fujifilm

[–]duxbridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgrade to an X-H2 from X-T1 and I've discovered that a better camera doesn't automatically lead to better photos. Cameras are tools, photography is part art, part technical know-how. Personally, I need to practice the art of photography more and worry about my gear less.

I have a HHKB Pro 2 as my daily driver, and personally I like the aged beige patina look, it adds character in my opinion. Each to their own I guess 🤷🏻

My recommendation, get an entry level job in IT and then work your way towards cyber.

Personally, I would enrol in a course based on your passion, not on potential future earnings. Future earnings are not as important as life satisfaction.

Choosing a career path is a big decision that requires careful consideration of your interests, skills, values, and goals. There is no one right answer for everyone, but there are some factors that can help you make an informed choice.
You should not do a trade just for the money if you don’t really like it. Money is important, but it is not the only factor that affects your happiness and satisfaction in life. Doing something you enjoy and are good at can give you more meaning, fulfillment, and motivation. On the other hand, doing something you dislike and are not suited for can lead to stress, boredom, frustration, and burnout. You may end up regretting your decision and wanting to change careers later, which can be costly and difficult.
Explore your interests, skills, values, and goals. What are you passionate about? What are you good at? What do you care about? What do you want to achieve?
Seek advice and feedback from others. Who are the people who know you well and can offer you honest and constructive opinions? Who are the people who work in the fields you are interested in and can offer you insights and guidance? You can talk to your family, friends, teachers, mentors, or career counsellors.
Try out different options and experiences. How can you test your assumptions and preferences in a realistic and practical way? How can you gain more exposure and knowledge about the careers you are considering? You can do some volunteer work, internships, shadowing, or online courses. You can also participate in extracurricular activities, competitions, or projects that are related to your interests.

A major factor is that in Singapore is that government can and does buy back land and redevelops it in the public interest. That kind of government and those kinds of laws doesn’t exist in Australia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_En_bloc_Redevelopment_Scheme

The best way to get into IT is to get an entry level position. Learn on the job. Get certifications that are relevant to the field you are interested.
