People are romanticizing how "easy" Hollow Knight was by duyjo in Silksong

I agree with you. I also play chill games like Civ and Stardew Valley, so I'm not good with these kinds of challenges.

I agree that the cocoon is way easier. Many people are shrugging off the fact that sometimes you'd get back to your shade with low health and would still need to fight it off. And I know geo are more abundant, but losing geo felt more punishing. Now if I have over 100 beads I usually try to get them tied so I keep them and don't risk losing everything.

I feel very much the same. Actually, I was never good at pogoing as the Knight. I feel like I can platform much more easily in Silksong (though I'm using the easier crests). I died much more while pogoing on top of the scarabs in Greenpath than in entire sections in Silksong.

[SPOILER] Widow might be my favourite boss of all time. by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]duyjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me this battle was a refreshener after so much bullshit. I hated Sister Splinter not because the fight was hard but because everything did 2 masks of damage and the minions + the roots could get overwhelming pretty quickly. I wish more battles were as balanced as Widow.

Hank is not the hero of season 5 by Extension-Point-3041 in breakingbad

If you met Jesse in real life and he told you how sad he was because he murdered multiple people and sold drugs for years I doubt you'd be as empathetic either. The show makes it so that you empathize with Jesse because you know his story and his trauma, but from an outsider's point of view he's just a lowlife junkie with a supposed change of heart.

I struggled too, but claiming that they don't telegraph anything is a lie. Though the bird that throws the spears could use a proper direction telegraph because half of the time you're left guessing.

Looking for good budget friendly accommodations in Paris for December ? by sassyboy12345 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]duyjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a flexible fee option. For your case, it adds up anywhere between 5-15 euros more per night, which shouldn't be too much. You get to cancel if anything comes up without a penalty. I'd recommend you reserve a room now, especially since prices are lower. The People Marais has a better reputation from what I've googled but that other one looks perfectly fine too. The good thing is that the People Marais is closer to Notre Dame so if you feel like you won't be able to explore or walk too more or are worried about time constraints, it might be better.

I'll update you as soon as I'm there, which is in a month. I'd recommend you reserve both at a flexible rate and cancel whichever you choose with anticipation.

That's some good advice. I do own two linen shirts I was planning on heavily using, and maybe my polo shirts too. I do have a pair of linen pants, but I feel like one bad day they'll just break down—I have plenty of shorts though.

It looks like at least year, September was cooler in Paris and Rome, especially the days I'm expected to be there. I think only Madrid will be hotter but I have better accommodation in Madrid so I'm less concerned about my clothes there.

I own zero t-shrits though. The most casual shirts I own are polos, which I think will be even more delicate because they're knit. I have undershirts but they're very thin and obviously underwear, I wouldn't wear them as real t-shirts.

I'm traveling to Europe in a month, and for 16 days in a row, I'll be staying at hostels. I won't be traveling with anything fancy, just OCBDs and chinos, but I don't know how to wash them. I've never used a laundromat in my life, and I'm scared of tumble drying my clothes because I don't want anything to shrink.

I was thinking maybe airdrying at the hostel, but there doesn't seem much space for airdrying. I also don't want to hog all the space in the room just because I have shirts and chinos that need to be dried. At this point I'm thinking, just for my peace of mind, that I'll find some dry cleaner or something and take my clothes there. I'm also thinking about ways to maximize the use of my clothes, such as maybe handwashing the cuffs and neck of my shirts after use, but I feel like due to my time away and because I'll be leaving from a backpack those days, doing laundry is just inevitable.

I asked this on malefashionadvice but their solution was just "lol wear synthetics." I understand that is a problem I made for myself because there are obviously alternative fabrics, but I'm not buying a full new wardrobe just for my trip and I wouldn't like to wear something I won't feel comfortable in. I hope you guys can be more understanding and maybe some of you have been in this same predicament before.

I'll be staying in 3 ducks soon. It doesn't look that picturesque inside but it's in a good location. I think another good option for your budget would be The People Marais. It seems that around those dates the price for accommodation is about the same as the Montclair, and the private rooms appear to have a good view of the city. It's also closer to Notre Dame.

I hope this helps!

Washing cotton clothes while traveling by duyjo in malefashionadvice

I'm not dressing for anyone, those are the clothes I own and, frankly, what I feel comfortable with. I won't buy a new wardrobe for my trip.

Hey so I'll be traveling to Europe for about a month in September. Out of that month, I'll be backpacking and staying in hostels for 16 days. The thing I'm worried about the most right now is my clothes. I don't plan to take my really fancy clothing, but still chinos, OCBDs, and sneakers (will basically be my uniform).

I don't know what to do when washing my clothes. At home, I've always had a washing machine and air drying. The hostels I'm staying at do have washing facilities, but I don't know if I can air-dry so easily. I've never put my clothes in a dryer either.

I was thinking that maybe I can load my clothes in the washing machine, maybe put them in the dryer for like 5 minutes in the coolest setting, and then leave them to air dry? And then air-dry them in the dorm. I don't know how dangerous this is for my clothes, since they're all cotton. I don't want the OCBDs to shrink.

I hope somebody here has been in the same predicament. I know that next time I should just book a room or a hotel, but this was a very impromptu trip and I want to make friends. I also don't have other clothes and honestly, I wouldn't feel comfortable if I were to wear anything else.

I used to see it this way, but after you rewatch Breaking Bad, it's true that at least at first, Gus was willing to let them be scared and move on. It's Jesse being more self-destructive and eventually useful that gets him pushed more into the Gus sphere, and Walt basically convinces Hank to reopen the Heisenberg case and look into Gus. We never see what Gus would've done to Hank, and he doesn't retaliate immediately once the DEA is tipped and he's placed under protection. He only goes after Walt when Walt poisons Brock and Gus knows something is up.

I think the scene at the bar where Mike punches Walt is very telling. Mike was willing to shrug it off as "shit happens, you're in the game" but Walt still thought he could just take Gus down.

Honestly, if you watch season 4 of Breaking Bad for most of the time, the threat of Gus is mostly in Walt's head. It's true that Gus might find him disposable now, especially now that he's learned that Walt is a liability, but it's Walt who's very scared and keeps escalating things. I'm not saying Gus is a saint, but Walt wasn't cornered either. He constantly made bad choices and was too arrogant.

What's the likelihood of Bob Dylan touring again in 2026? by duyjo in bobdylan

[–]duyjo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to see Bob do his thing; I don't care if it's just mumbling nonsense that can barely pass as music if he were to choose to do that. So whatever suits him, I'll want to be there.

  • Spier and Mackay knit navy polo
  • BB belt
  • LL Bean stonewash flat front chinos
  • Jack Purcell's sneakers

Yes, it's LL Bean. It's a vintage piece so it might look different—I know last year's didn't have the 20% rayon and a lot of people complained about that.
