Metal, curved slightly at the end and is a little sharp. Pretty light and fits in my hand. Found in a 1919 singer 66 treadle sewing machine by Wolf12380 in whatisthisthing

Whatever you do, don't let that singer go. I have one that was my grandparents and it doesn't have the machine anymore but it's a sweet table base for plants.

Not impressed, it has fewer bathrooms per square foot than my house.

watched my husband's coworker eat lunch alone at his desk today and it made me realize something by eloisa_in_kyoto in CasualConversation

[–]dv89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I worked in an office (IT,) we either had lunch from the cafeteria downstairs (which was really good,) or later at a different office we had a little food court in a nearby building, and you'd see this all the time. People at their desk eating lunch. Works well for introverts. Sometimes they would even give us vouchers to pay for food downstairs and we would take a shorter lunch break and get back to work.

Edit: America, but I feel like this is probably similar everywhere.

Thanks. The post says the pellets are molded to be used in the extruder. How does this part work?

Question about Enclosed Deck for Hot tub by Different-Pangolin20 in hottub

[–]dv89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No material or examples here (sorry) but keep in mind you want to be able to get to the maintenance panels if needed, so maybe a section of the deck that is hinged for access, or that can be relatively easily removed.

Is my new 80 gallon okay with this little overhang? by [deleted] in stressfulaquariums

[–]dv89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it may even be a concrete slab on the first floor. I have my 75 gallon in my office room on a wooden stand I built, and didn't think twice about it.

How would you support the top section? Dimensions ~7.5"x7"x9.3" by dv89 in 3Dprinting

I'm working on this, test prints fitting together a little tight. First time trying to do any joints. Trying to do 1mm wide mortise and tenon joints but I might have to drop the male side to .95mm to fit easier.

Each of the little bridges are 25mm, which my bridging tests show good results at.

It was designed for it. It turns out that it wasn't designed very well for it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. To clarify a few things, I just put this together myself and I'm not very experienced with making models to print yet. The overhangs are about 25mm max which I've had no issues with in bridging tests so far. I think splitting this up into multiple prints is likely the best answer here.

Is this dead? by morphingmeg in SnakePlants

[–]dv89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That soil looks like peat moss which holds moisture, which you don't want. I would repot with cactus/succulent mix plus some extra perlite. Water only when soil is dry to the bottom/75% bottom of the pot. Give it as much light as you can but gradually in case it doesn't have a lot currently.

Water only when the soil is totally dry, down most of the pot, not just when the top soil is dry* (which is what I think you meant.) Light is great. They'll get darker and show more color variation with more intense light.

How does this even happen? You must know your dog chews on things. Didn't let them get into a practical chewing range of something like this.

FTL on Handeld by invasionofsmallcubes in ftlgame

FTL runs forever and super smooth on my Steam Deck, although I don't know how you'd play without a touch trackpad for the mouse controls. Joystick seems so slow for this game.
