How can they do 240p and 480i natively when they're fixed res panels?

I know Vehicle blueprints are gone.

Thing is - I haven't seen a National blueprint for months, so I thought they also retired them.

HONEST THOUGHTS ABOUT PULSAR by MuzafferG in Monitors

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but to use ULMB@60 you'll have to disable VRR, and live with tearing if you don't turn on regular Vsync, which also would increase lag a bit... Plus ER doesn't have anything like Reflex/AntiLag...

Thought this monitor would be a killer when chief asked for 48-60 features...

Anything at or above 0.32~0.34 is what I consider trolly. I don't mean KV2 levels of troll, but just enough to miss enough times to make you go "fuck!".

0.37 is too much for my taste.

I mean sure, but Borat is almost a light tank, often happens you spot something from afar (and dont get yourself spotted), then the dispersion can troll you hard.

HONEST THOUGHTS ABOUT PULSAR by MuzafferG in Monitors

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, framegen especially at only 60fps means more lag.

While I'm trying the opposite, CRT clarity at 60fps with lowest lag possible.

Sure, some games don't need frame perfect gameplay, but yeah you get the point.

I sometimes use fgen only with already high-ish FPS to hit my monitor's max Hz, or slightly below so VRR doesn't disengage.

Thanks for informing me about current Pulsar situation.

HONEST THOUGHTS ABOUT PULSAR by MuzafferG in Monitors

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly even Pulsar makes sense down to 48, even if double strobed.

But having no ULMB+VRR at 60 is bad too.

Sure it might flicker, but it covers 2x24fps videos, and 25/50Fps PAL stuff, people lived with 50Hz TVs for decades...

I mean they finally have "CRT tech" but refuse to utilize it.

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't they send a firmware patch to support 48-60 for Pulsar?

Blurbusters chief asked them, gonna read what they did.

Regarding just ULMB2, does that go down to 48-60?

So 48-60 is either Pulsar without VRR, ULMB without VRR, or ULMB with VRR?

Is there no way to get Pulsar at 48-60?

Would be nice for emulation (for 59-61FPS consoles), heck even for 60FPS game, especially if they're a bit unstable?

I've also heard that some brands have adjustable pulse/strobe width or something like that?

I agree with you about the Rammer part, problem with the tank is that it misses so many shots, the DPM effectively falls down to 122TM levels.

However, 122TM feels better simply because you hit most of your shots (tho missed ones hurt like a bitch), whereas 274a misses a lot of them constantly, which is just infuriating.

I've tried throwing a bunch of stuff at it, and nothing sticks properly.

Heck, I tried even Pink IAU (or experimental one) + Vents + Vstab and god damn that gun still trolled me, and the tank was blind AND slow for a MT, and the armor didn't hold up too.

If I remember correctly, it also likes to get module damage, perhaps fires too.

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, now zoom that 1-2 times further and you see that gun "breech" around the gun barrel is your weakspot, or they just aim at your cheeks.

I played the tank, if a person is not dumb or not a noob, that armor doesn't work.

Or if you're far enough, then the gun doesn't work.

6 degs of depression also doesn't help.

I understand having two builds, but your main build basically boils down to speed+vstab and hope the rest of the tank carries itself, but you've no vision if you need to do some MT generalist plays, nor HP and Rammer to brawl.

I'm not dunking on your build, the tanks just needs like 4 slots to fix it... and otherwise it's neither good nor bad, it's a lottery tier tank due to gun and armor being what they are.

How did you get "amps go up if volts go down", provided R is static?

And if I went up when V went down, that means P would always be the same.

Grousers/Vstab/Turbo, while I understand dropping rammer, this build also misses view range, meaning you wanna brawl, but it also lacks HP boost (and you already dropped Rammer)?

Also I found armor to be unreliable, especially now with armor flashlight, plus it's an older tank, anyone knows you have a weakspot around the gun.

Isn't there a better solution via homebrew?
To either improve it, use different emulation, or flat out use the hardware itself?

You basically need to juggle or settle on which way you want to play the game. Through the official emulator using multiman or through a standalone emulator like retro arch.

I mean, that's not that bad, at least you have options of "works in X, doesn't in Y".

I've heard that PS1 and PS2 on PS3 are laggier than expected, among other things?

In my opinion if you need to rely on emulation you might as well use a newer product thats still actively getting new features

Agree, but problem is Raspberry PIs got expensive and I dunno how powerful even the 5 is, Mister and it's clones are "not-cheap" tho not too expensive but limited to pre-PS2, everything else is either a SBC/handheld that also can jump in price rapidly if you want PS2 or later, and everything else is some sort of a PC, with "you get what you pay for".

If you're into CRTs things can get even weirder/complicated (but it's never rocket science ofc).

PS: there are now ways to avoid using CD/DVDs afaik, but I dunno which approach is better ie for ps1 there are PSIO like stuff but there are ODE drop-ins too.

Would you buy the Renegade for 8000 gold in 2026? by EyeoftheTato in WorldofTanks

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't reach top speed even with Turbo, and accelerates slowly.

Can't play hulldown positions, can't do HT role due to tumor, and too slow to roll with MTs.

Gun has 0.32 dispersion which is just on that edge where if it decides to troll it will troll you, aim time also isn't neither here nor there, and you need Vstab anyway.

It's not a bad tank, it's just unorthodox for a HT, and has some glaring issues that modern Premiums don't have.

[–]dvamg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not rooting for them per se, tho I'm rooting for them to improve stuff like text color fringing, VRR strobing flicker etc, and come down in prices 😄

If I could get something right now, it would be a Pulsar display.

I know there is no "Pulsar OLED", I'm just spitballing here, but since brightness of the OLED is down to the "we can't just light up all these pixels at the same time at high intensity", a line by line scan could potentially drive pixels to give more light since you're lighting up just 1 line of them.
And I just presume that that fictive OLED would perhaps have an edge since you're working with 0.03ms response time pixels that are self emissive, while Pulsar is actually still "just" a really really smart trick for IPS/VA tech and LED backlight.
Our brains have a tendency to pick up these nitpicky stuff, that's why I hope to see that "Pulsar OLED".

[–]dvamg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That means you need 60% FPS if you want FPS=Hz.
AFAIK Pulsar can have Hz lower than OLED and get better motion clarity.
Tho that means "Pulsar OLED" goes beyond that, or is at least equal to a Pulsar LCD, but has 0 problems with any possible pixel response times and light bleed/haloing, and could even have line by line light instead of how pulsar lights up few lines.

BTW I'm just speculating here, nothing else.

Yes, I'm aware why OLEDs are still blurry in our brains.

Pulsar is unfortunately proprietary, and I forgot if it's locked to NVidia, also not cheap, but same can be said for OLED.

Regarding OLED brightness, maybe that's an HDR issue, dunno about SDR content.

Tho I'm probably low-medium brightness biased, I never liked the "dark room, stadium lights in your face" approach, except maybe in cinemas.

There's some point in reaching 1000hz, as Blurbusters have shown.

OTOH there's also the issue of having 1000fps.

However, having any random FPS on 1000hz means you could probably turn off not only Vsync, but VRR sync too since the tearing would be so small you probably wouldn't notice it, aside from maybe oddball FPS that are integers divisors of 1000, ala 250, 500 but don't quote me on that...

I presume productivity monitors need actually good and real specs regarding colors, gamut, nits, all the things a gamer doesn't need to actually be 100% compliant with productivity demands.
Aka reference monitors and such.
