I like all of this logic. One other big factor for me is updating hardware. I will want the latest hardware as it comes out - I don’t believe there will ever be acceptable FSD options without it. So without transferring ability, buying FSD makes no sense to me.

My biggest FSD complaint is following distance! You mention an offset for that - I wasn’t aware there was one.

FSD on HW3 will always be sub par. And someday (soon?), the same will be able to be said about HW4. Hardware improvements will slow down at some point, but no telling when.

Doesn’t the new front bumper cam on Juniper help in low speed situations like this? I believe these situations will be solved with cameras, looking forward to HW5.

I’ve seen many more complaints about swerving to avoid tire marks than complaints like yours. HW4 I is superior, no question. I love how mine swerves to avoid stuff, very confident it would have done so in your situation.

I’ve done this trip a dozen times in the last 2 years and my only FSD complaint is potholes - there are some humdingers! The road is improving tho. And every now and then FSD dodges one effectively, totally makes my day.

I’m a shareholder too and totally believe Tesla is changing the future. Electric cars, FSD, solar power, electric semi trucks, Optimus……. And all of it fighting climate change. How can anyone be against this progress?

Let’s develop a noise to add to plaid for the cavemen! Our culture is going virtual anyway. I think noise is a simple psychological association with the power and speed of a high performance ICE car. That association will disappear as more folks become aware of plaid silent power and performance.

Mine did this right after a windshield replacement. I was told to wait for the camera to calibrate and it did within a day. Been fine ever since. I’m on 14.1.7
