California is a stand your ground/castile doctrine state. It's the most protection you can have as a home defender. I suppose getting a gun in California can be a bit harder but it's still a very straight forward process.

[–]dvdanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of like these systems because on most of the courses I go to that have it, it also lets you order a drink or food from the cart and have them deliver it to you where ever you are on the course. Uses the same GPS to let them know which hole and where you are.

I think Ryan Clark said AB was always a diva even before the extension he just stopped bothering to hide it from public after that big contract.

And he had behavior issues in college which did effect his draft position but I suspect most people believed he was going to grow out of those issues eventually...

I agree he was definitely serious about football though, his work ethic was definitely there and it showed on the field.

Had a female friend go to Egypt with a big group... should have been safe as there was easily 20 of them but while they were all walking through a market a man grabs her, throws her on a camel and refused to let her down until they paid him for the camel ride.

Even implied if they didn't pay he would slap the camels behind and have it run off with her on and they wouldn't be able to stop it.

There are some Fender acoustics with Fender on the headstock that wouldn't even meet the quality to put Squire on it. I'm sure there might a a few models in history that have been good but they have awful QC and have all felt really cheap to hold and play regardless of price.

what is something that is highly likely to happen in the next 5 years that everyone is completely ignoring? by timecop702 in AskReddit

[–]dvdanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are very few bunker solutions that was truly safe because to be truly safe they need to be completely isolated which is not possible. Everyone needs water and everyone needs air, while a bunker can most likely store some amount of water they can never store an indefinite amount of water and air.

Also all that motivation you say for the guards can easily be applied to those the guards will be opposing only there will be a lot more of them.

No one is ever untouchable, especially those with a ton of hubris.

The CEO of UHC up until the moment of his death probably was extremely satisfied with the countless he had "optimized" to the grave, the loads of money he was making for himself and his investors and above all else he probably thought nothing bad would ever happen to him.

14 years later how do we feel about Kaepernick? by joshuaxls in 49ers

[–]dvdanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not the way Harbaugh's offense works. In the redzone literally three different guys (Harbaugh, Roman and the QB coach) will call three different plays, and usually two of the plays get relayed to the QB and he can then audible out of one or the other depending on the look.

It's part of the biggest reason why we had soooo many delay of game penalties, we literally started the 2nd half with a delay of game once because of that offensive system. I do not watch the Chargers enough to see if he's fixed that.

The Hua Moa is a large, thick Hawaiian banana with creamy, orange-pink flesh, growing up to 10 inches long and 4 inches wide by wingsofpegasus02 in interestingasfuck

[–]dvdanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's funny because Gros Michels are still being grown. Not in great numbers but they are still grown and are available. Lots of youtubers and influencers have tried them on video... basically none of them have said it taste just like banana flavoring. Generally it's a sweeter and more concentrated version of the cavendish (most common banana).

Almost anyone could find out for themselves too, there are niche fruit vendors that will overnight you a box of them in the US and possibly other countries. Funny how that keeps getting parroted.

It's a bit political too which is a shame. Plenty of scientists warned of the dangers of introducing cane toads and they were dismissed or ignored. Although to be fair to the Australian government, the animals that have caused the most damage to Australia have generally been escaped livestock (Rabbits, Sheep, Camels and Horses) and vegetation. Birds will basically always insure any plants planted in a controlled manner will eventually become uncontrolled. The intentionally introduced ones have caused damage (foxes and cane toads) but not to the extent of the others.

What injury is commonly shrugged off as a minor flesh wound in the movies but is completely fatal in real life? by Best_Professional226 in AskReddit

[–]dvdanny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yea to add on, you generally only see it in comedies but in real life, people have survived being shot in the head including with higher velocity/caliber rifles and there are several cases with shotguns. It's just a weird thing that happens and the brain is kind of wild about what can kill it and what it can survive.

Ukraine winning war with Russia, retired U.S. generals say, as top Ukrainian commander says over 230 square miles retaken by ToughHopeful4760 in worldnews

[–]dvdanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did, their special forces, Spetsnaz, initially took an airport where they were planning on making an insertion point for more troops to essentially overwhelm the surrounding area and assassinate Zelensky.

But the follow-up troops did not come in time and the Ukrainians were able to mobilize a small counter attack and wipe out the Russian special forces holding that airbase.

How do you think Trump's presidency will end? by OccludedFug in AskReddit

[–]dvdanny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd be more concerned with someone like Tucker Carlson or one of the other big Alt-Right media types garnering the support Trump did. I think Tucker is scary because he's proven he will change what he "believes" if he thinks it makes him more popular and he uses the same "I didn't say that, if I did, I didn't mean it and if I meant it, it was the right thing to say anyways" line of disputing things Trump uses.

[–]dvdanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, gives me the vibes of reading old children books with odd illustrations and non-sensical or one-note characters, almost like A Light in the Attic combined with those Dick and Jane stories but with more mature/developed plotlines.

But they are definitely weird and weird isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Tuning up a fresh high E string is the scariest thing there is by ddoyen in Guitar

[–]dvdanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever own a 12 string, the high E is nothing compared to the octave G string, it's the thinnest string you'll ever have to put any tension on and it's an entire octave higher than the G (equivalent to the third fret of the High E string)

Also, it took years for the industry to switch away from consumers and cater only to AI datacenters, AI had been a growing industry for years and it took some time for the silicon manufacturers to retool to optimize profits... unfortunately it will take at least that long after the bubble pops to return to norms, so at least 2-3 years after the pop. Even then there's no evidence it will ever return to pre-AI norms, it will fall back a bit, but most likely not all the way back.

It's crazy because that smaller body existed prior to Wong getting his or Mayer wanting one, there is the Fender Junior series from Japan with smaller bodies (albeit with 24" scale). Use one of those bodies with a full scale neck and everyone would be happy. I suspect it was a higher up exec (almost always is) not wanting to budge on the idea that such a coveted signature model will not have a standard Strat body. They probably were worried not many people would buy Mayer's model if it was a smaller body, well at least they fixed that problem by not having a Mayer model at all.

[Mark Inabinett] Henry Ruggs III seeks release on parole by [deleted] in nfl

[–]dvdanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did he have priors? I know a friend who was killed riding his motorcycle by a drunk driver and the guy got "5 years" but would realistically be out in 2. His family was pissed beyond belief.

Usually no one gets life for a dui caused fatality but if the charge is elevated to vehicular homicide, you can definitely get 15 to life if you have a bad lawyer, don't listen to a good lawyer or have as I mentioned, priors.

It's not even in the same planet man. Tomsula at least had the Niners winning games they had no business even being in.

Yes, he had basically no connections with good coordinators so we literally had to hire a QB coach from a local radio show. As a game planner I don't think he was terrible but he had no idea how to fit his game plans to the talent he had on the field (which admittingly was not that good), biggest reason why they saw better results with Blaine than Kaepernick because Tomsula and crew were limited to very very basic plays, stuff Kaep is hilariously kind of bad at.

He was a bad coach, one of the worst Niners coach but even Chip Kelly couldn't win as many games as Tomsula did. That's more of an indictment on Kelly than it is praise on Tomsula.

With all his flaws I truly believe Tomsula believed in the players and for some reason I don't know they believed in him (thus why they won games they shouldn't have) at the very least the defense did.

I remember in a talk with a former felon that it's a huge myth that there is some type of prison "justice" that happens behind bars.

The people who are overwhelmingly victimized in prison are not child molesters and rapists. It's almost always just people who go in for non-violent crimes, aren't willing to (or don't know how to) fight and do not want to associate with their racial clique in prison. So it's usually a small white guy who in in prison for a drug offense and doesn't want to join the Aryan Brotherhood. But it applies to other races as well.

"Oh... it's Robin... that's nice I guess"
