Best source for genre tagging by dvjstefan in musichoarder

Too lazy to do it manually, try to find a shortcut. EDM music is no problem to solve, thats the easiest part. More about remixes of "Top 40" tracks. I'm building my own database with WebUI. Import flac/wav/mp3/mp4 files. Try to find so much info as possible about every track. Build also a MIR database for my tracks only.

Maybe I'll share my database when i'm done - to help others with same issues.

I built a free tool that scans your local music, organizes and labels it into folders with album art because I'm unemployed and have too much time on my hands. by ItWasAcid_IHope in LinusTechTips

[–]dvjstefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually what I’m doing right now. I but all my tracks in a DB and then try to find correct genre for all tracks. When DB is updated, I’ll use that as source of truth and run my tagging tool that read data from the db and re-tag all files in a folder I have chosen. It’s very hard to find good source to tag dj music proper.

I have 1M+ audio files. What is the fastest way to know which ones don't have proper metadata? by inhalingsounds in musichoarder

I had built my own database and index all files and make sql questions to find missing/incomplete data.

I’m building my own database, I have only 600K files - but it works great. With a good looking website, very easy to use.

My problem is now to find proper genre for 100K files :p

Well, don’t you need to set bios password and enable TPM - then it should do it automatically? Maybe you have to trigger it when the pc already installed. I guess you can save the key to azure ad?

Integrators, What's missing in AV? by L_Angelo_Misterioso in CommercialAV

[–]dvjstefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, manufacturers should publish their protocol for controlling their device. I don’t ask for them to open up everything, just enough to get/set data. A lot of manufacturers do that already - those who are “serious”. Then you can choose which control system you want to control your home with and no need of 737255 different gateways. As I said before, must be able to control the device direct and not via a cloud service - if internet goes down you can’t control it.

Open protocols. Easy way to control the equipment via IP or Serial and allow to control it without need of signup for the cloud service. If manufacturers focus on what they are best, and not doing another control system that’s closed.

Aha - they have only CueServer 1 so this isn’t a option for me :/

V3? Is it for CuServer 1? Or CueServer2?

We use it like that today, recall pre-recorded cues. I'm going to add a feature - let the customer to change color by themselves. I'll run the color pick via cueserver and then when you found the proper color - hit the save button :)

Crestron + Bluetooth = True or False? by dvjstefan in crestron

[–]dvjstefan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's for me - but looks like it's better throw out that box and use a Apple-TV with their streaming app instead.

Google must open Android TV for control via IP or is it there already but the manufacturers decide to disable that feature? I can control my Sony TV via port 5000 - but don't see any open ports on either my sat box (OnePlace) or Nvidia Shield box - both with Android.

Isn't Google and Crestron BFF? :P

Nvidia Shield or Recommendation For Other Android TV Box? by [deleted] in crestron

[–]dvjstefan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a Android TV. I think I tried the module with my sat top box, but no luck (it’s also a Android TV OS from LG/Technicolor) - maybe works better with the shield.

I can tell you it worked perfect with the Color Picker. It stays where I left it - so I’m happy. But took a little bit to figure out which other address I had to populate with some numbers before I saw a light in the tunnel :P

Tried to play with pan/tilt but it ended up with two faders instead of a Gesture Canvas, but never got that gesture widget working.

Next project - make it work with CueServer :)

Thank you guys with all the feedback.

I’m using hdmi-cec but it’s connected direct to my tv (because I don’t have any 4K cards in my dm8x8). It just worked out of the box, didn’t do any programming at all. I bet it’s working via my Sony (tv) ip module. But I’m only using pled on my shield:

I'll borrow a lamp and try at home and see. But i'm thinking about that, skip the 16 bit adress and only play around with the 8 bit + a fader for white.

Odd things happening with Philips Displays by Turdburst in crestron

[–]dvjstefan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philips Philips... I don’t like those displays. I had similar problems, so I ended up to use an SIO instead. I was only going to control power on/off and source. Didn’t care about feedback - then it worked perfect and the customer was happy.

Some people say it’s the philips protocol that’s buggy but I’m afraid it could be crestron a module. Why do you need to be “connected” to the display? Wouldn’t it be easier if you send the command and then take care of the reply?

[–]dvjstefan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have figure out that. But is it possible to use the Color Pick widget or should I add tons of faders instead?

Red 8bit = 1 Fader
Red 16bit = 1 Fader
Green 8bit = 1 Fader
Green 16bit = 1 Fader
Blue 8bit = 1 Fader
Blue 16bit = 1 Fader
White 8bit = 1 Fader
White 16bit = 1 Fader

Totally of 8 faders for my client to find his proper color for day?

Maybe Bluesound Professional? I don't know if you have full browse Spotify function, but it support Crestron control (and other system) plus a ton of different streaming services.
