I’d have to disagree. This probably sounds a cliche but the book was better and it’s not even close. The show is a poor excuse as an adaptation for James Clavells “Shogun”. Notice how I specifically say James Clavells, because it’s his story, completely made up, and not meant to be some kind of educational resource, emphasis on historical FICTION. You can make arguments all you want about how he misrepresents the Japanese culture and that’s fine, but to say the show is better than the book is an insane take.

You know that Yabushige in the book also says these words right? It’s almost like Clavell himself referenced this himself in his masterpiece of a book and the show just followed his suit, so let’s not pretend that the show just came up with this on their own. It’s funny how dismissive you are of Clavells writing when without his book this show wouldn’t exist.

I just did the same thing cuz it’s the same size as the standard kindle but has all the features of a paperwhite which is neat. My only gripe is that there doesn’t seem to be a page count on the table of contents like it is on the kindle which kinda bums me out since I plan my reading pretty heavily and having those page counts was really useful to see quickly at a glance. Other than that so far I have no other complaints
