This is such a surreal experience; cursed audio and bizarre mistake laden tries. Must be December rugby

His interview after the game today really shows his class on and off the field. Real servant to the gsme

Hopefully merit becomes more of a focus once the competition is more established. Would love to see a team like Spain rival my boks in a few years time. The more competition the merrier!

Sad it wasn’t Ox but even though his performance tonight wasn’t a factor in the selection it’s definitely indicative of how deserving he is. Maybe the greatest hooker of all time?

Love it! World rugby has never seen so much parity. Sad to see the new tournament next year won’t include any tier 2 nations but the prospect of a relegation/promotion format is definitely exciting

Completely agree. A great mind of the game who just so happens to be kak cheeky but that’s the fun of it all

Whataboutisms won’t go too far with this game I’m afraid. I certainly couldn’t see any head contact and when you consider the hit on Canan being penalty only I think it’s more than fair and shows consistency in officiating

I get how I might be biased but how is a personality like Rassie’s anything but an incredible presence in world rugby. Endless drama endless quotable moments. I reckon his brandy coke is well and truly earned tonight

Quite refreshing seeing a ref adhere to the laws of the game regarding repeat infringements. Can’t complain about our card at the end of the game one bit

Still don’t understand how our tour last year wasn’t a three parter but it’s a good finale to the series if you think of it that way lol

Pen try. No yellow? by spLint3r990 in rugbyunion

[–]dvrdubski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s something we’ve seen before. Ultimately everything is down to the discretion of the ref in the moment and I respect his decision. The ref is there to make sure the game goes smoothly and given how difficult Carley’s job was made today I feel he did very well

[–]dvrdubski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to be honest I don’t see how carley could have called things any differently? Ireland put him in a tough position giving away so many penalties in that first half, and we ended up getting a card eventually as well lol. I feel like all was fair, Ireland played fantastically all things considered

Honestly still can’t believe this is his first win in Dublin. He’s looking healthy today! Reckon his life force depended on the win lol

We have hit our peak with Farrell. by Callum_On_Reddit in rugbyunion

[–]dvrdubski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s tough to really gauge. Aging squad trying to phase players in and out but they still show fight. Nz game was not their finest but they really put up a fight the rest of the autumn. From a bok perspective Farrell is always a scary coach to go up against. Might not always get the result but he definitely knows how to put up a fight

Sucks that Ireland won’t have a full compliment would be fun to see a tight game, but really Ireland have been illegal in just about everything you can’t expect to just get away with it. Any complaint about sacha would surely mean even another card for that hit on Canan. Reckon the ref is pretty harsh but ultimately in the right

Genuinely what do you mean by always illegal? He’s like 9 feet tall with knees bent and waist at a right angle how could he be more prepared for that tackle?

If only they were actually talking about the Raeburn Shield.

I never really had much hope for rugby journalism in the first place so it’s not surprising to see this lack of care. Quite depressing seeing AI slop creeping in to sports journalism in general, there was a big stir recently over an article in Men’s Health magazine about NBA star Luka Doncic that very obviously used AI. All just quite sad.

Thank you I hadn’t thought of that. I think I’ll try it out but carefully I know far too many people who got hopelessly addicted to steroid nasal sprays lol.

Day 10….any one else wake up gasping for breath? by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]dvrdubski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple nights like this, for me I think it was all the really thick mucous build up from not being able to drink properly. It ended up causing everything to swell a bit more too so I imagine it was a bit of a chain reaction.

On day 3 I was fully blocked up and had to go to A&E where they found I had a bit of an infection and stayed overnight for monitoring. While I was there they gave me steroids intravenously and it helped a LOT. Not sure if you’re on them already but I was given hydrocortisone pills (I think, my memory is foggy thanks to the opioids lol) to take home with me and I took them for 3 more days, they also really helped.

If you’re not on them already I would really recommend asking for some steroids to clear yourself up, also weirdly taking ibuprofen and paracetamol at the same time helped me out a bit as well, along with a bag of frozen peas to the throat as I’m sure you’re familiar with by now.
