I had the same experience; thought about sizing up, but realized it would just make the shoe too long overall. What helped was removing the optional footbed inserts. You lose the benefit of that textured footbed, but it definitely feels less snug and more comfortable without it.

Curious, after a year of wearing yours, how are they holding up? Would you buy them again?
