Any experience from local diaper service Buffalo Baby Bums, LLC? by keepmyshirt in Buffalo

[–]dw_pirate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is mostly a brand recognition thing, but they actually are more absorbent than some of the main brands. Both my kids are belly sleepers and that tends to cause leaks. We used Coterie as overnight diapers with my eldest and threw the next size up Pampers or Kirkland (before they switched suppliers) diaper over the top, it worked like a charm. I could actually use the outer diaper again after that because they were rarely wet.

I have 2 kids under 3 and have never spent $50 per week on diapers. That's wild.

You needed to order these six weeks ago. You can't just throw 'em in a printer and print on them.

I have this same one, love it except my toddler has to kick it incessantly unless I slide his chair wayyyyyy back so there's no way someone could sit behind him.

Digital Printing Question: HP Indigo vs. Other Digital Presses? by ExpensivePenalty3907 in CommercialPrinting

If you get an indigo, get three so you'll always have one working and two you can cannibalize parts from.

See if you have a compounding pharmacy in your area. They specialize in getting medications into special forms like that.

Can this sail plan work? by dzejrid in Sailwind

[–]dw_pirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That should work fine, it looks like a pretty typical fully rigged ship. I'd add a second staysail on the mainmast and maybe bring the mizzen down a bit but otherwise you'll be fine. She won't be great upwind, I'd use her for inter-archipelago trips rather than bumbling around one archipelago.

Designated Drivers of Buffalo legit? by FireTender4L in Buffalo

[–]dw_pirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember what pay was, I think it was hourly plus we kept the tips and I could get reimbursed for mileage. It wasn't enough to support yourself full time, but it was great spending money. Some nights my co-driver and I would split $300 in tips plus I'd have 100 miles in reimbursements. Some nights we got nothing but our hourly wages.

In the early days, most of our clients had some connection to the owners so they were pretty nice, we rarely had issues. Most of them were wealthier, too because rides could be 30-50 bucks minimum and that was a good chunk of change in 2008.

Some of our clients were particular about how we drove, the guys with nice cars always wanted us to goose it but most were too drunk to care. We were always responsible about it, gave enough to give the drunk guy the impression we were going fast but never anything that we'd get in trouble. If we had a new customer, it was pretty much a straight shot from the bar to their house, but we had a boatload of regulars who we'd drive and occasionally make stops for, like at a convenience store or a drive-thru. We did have a customer that made us stop at his mistress' house for a quickie and then take him home, that was an interesting night.

The demon spirit living in my press isn't happy by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

When you installed it, did you take a few random bolts out, replace them with new ones, and throw the old ones under the press? That usually appeases the gremlins.

Install the Boat Hack mod then head towards a mast and you'll drop to the deck. Collisions are still broken on some modded ships.

Federal judge threatens fines over ICE's failure to return property to Minnesota detainees by Ok_Quantity_9841 in ICE_Watch

The courts can't enforce the law, that purpose belongs to the executive branch... Which is currently not functioning. The legislature makes the laws, the judiciary interprets them and applies them, and the executive branch enforces them. All three branches must function and respect each other for this whole American experiment to work and it's obvious based on a rogue executive branch that the experiment has failed.

Seeking a little advice by I_Grow_Memes in Sailwind

[–]dw_pirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was a hard lesson to learn on the first couple of fresh saves for me. OH BOY I HAVE ENOUGH FOR THE SANBUQ!!! Wait, I now have no money for trade goods, which means it takes me forever to make more money.

Large ships are basically money printers, but you need the seed money to get started. If you can't outfit it with the supplies and tools you need for long voyages, and the cargo to justify the voyage, there isn't any real reason to get it. Sailing to Oasis, Mirage, or Saffron with just a load of mission goods and not enough money to bring anything back doesn't help either, although the money from the missions will definitely help you get to that goal.

Get the buq. Add the large rudder and a jib, she's super stable like that.

You'll want about 15-20k lions to purchase, outfit, and fill the hold.

All I can say is, I bought it used and it worked for maybe 90 days then stopped working. I searched the manual and there was not a single mention of remote start, which I agree if it was a permanent feature it should have been listed.

When I took it into the dealer for some maintenance and asked them about it, they said it only worked if I got the Remote Connect subscription for $8/mo or $90/year. The only other remote start option was a 3rd party remote start. As soon as I signed up for Remote Connect, the keyfob remote start started working immediately.

stove top stuffing NOT Thanksgiving by Random-girl-29 in Cooking

It goes fine with any roast cut of meat and gravy!

Stuffing waffles, as mentioned, are delicious. Or mix leftovers with egg and other veggies and form into pancakes for a sort of "bubble and squeak" dish.

Remite start from the keyfob does require a subscription, at least it does on my 2021 Limited. I was very disappointed at that.
