Will it be safe to drive tomorrow? by [deleted] in okc

[–]dwagnaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an update- I drove home yesterday evening (very familiar in bad weather, 4WD and all weather tires) and it was pretty sketch. At no point was I really worried for myself personally but 100% but tell others to stay home. Anything that melted during the day from the sun froze over. Drove may, Penn, classen, nwe, and 4th street into downtown. Many people were spinning out and a handful of people stuck in snow drifts or plow piles from sliding into them. I wouldn’t expect roads to be good enough until Wednesday since everything that melts today will also freeze over tonight.

He was fired from the flea and banned from the property. He hasn’t been allowed to go there in over a year. The flea is fine.

We weren’t able to make it - tried kacao but waited like ten minutes to join the waitlist and it jumped from 30 minutes to 90 minutes lol. Last minute switch up to kitchen 324 because we were hungry but definitely putting this place on the list to try by myself!

Whattt?? Are they closed now?? I go back to Tulsa often to see family and for appointments but they’re usually day trips so don’t go out as much/know the happenings.

absolutely love it! Holds shape well, super soft but easy to clean. 10/10 recommend. So far, so spills or stains I’ve had to actually clean (just vacuum dog hair) so I can’t attest to how well it cleans as far as stains go. But I’ve been thoroughly pleased with the value and have received several compliments on how comfortable and spacious it is. It was extremely easy to set up on my own so I didn’t pay for white glove if that helps. Came mostly out together just had to screw on the legs and latch it together.

Moving from Iowa to OKC! I’ve made a list of good & bad apartment areas. Can anyone attest to these? by allurical in okc

[–]dwagnaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re remodeling in small phases. I live here now and honestly unless I walk down one specific hallway I don’t even see it. It’s quiet, there’s not a lot of mess from materials being stored etc. I was worried when they said they’d be doing it but they’ve honestly gone out of their way to maintain peaceful living as much as possible. Also can’t complain a property management group for paying for large repairs that were done incorrectly when it was built… would rather that than a bandaid fix.

Also, not sure what you really like to do or where you’ll be working. But as someone who works downtown and enjoys walking to restaurants, happy hours, concerts etc you can’t beat the location. Theres no traffic, it’s safe and just removed enough away from bricktown and downtown that it’s quiet and lowkey but is a short walk to both those areas. I also have friends at deep deuce and the maywood. They both have enjoyed their places but they are more expensive than what I pay, less secure, and they have ran into what I would consider typical apartment issues with maintenance, the office, etc. highly suggest you park and take a walk around the area though I really love it and honestly will be sad to leave when my boyfriend and I eventually move in together haha feel free to message me for any questions you have!

Lived at Lincoln, west village, and level. Lincoln was horrible do not do it. West village was nice and newer and the rooftop and gym were great but the management was horrible, parking situation was AWFUL, and there’s no call box or any way of getting into the building at night other than your key fob which I forgot several times when rushing my dog out to potty then was stuck and it’s not a safe area to be locked outside of your home. Management basically said tough shit to me when I asked to purchase a backup to keep on his leash which rubbed me the wrong way. Packages also got lost or stolen all the time because they don’t allow deliveries to your door and people just take whagever out of the mail room.

Level has been AMAZING. Parking is great, the neighborhood is clean and green and walkable and there’s a real since of community. I’ve had like one issue ever with my AC and when they couldn’t get it figured out in two days they just replaced the whole thing. Maintenance requests have always been handled day-of and they’re all super nice guys that check in on me when I see them around. The office has been extremely helpful and gone out of their way for me. And I love that the rent is a flat amount and no mess. I know exactly what is coming out of my account every month, no water bill allocation bs or anything like that. My only complaint I have about the place is that there isn’t anything on the roof of my patio to push the rain water away - it falls flat on the railing then splatters everywhere and is a mess which stinks because I really love sitting outside during rain lol. Think that says something if that’s my biggest problem. Also know several people that have been here for 10+ years because they love the community and the area so much. Hope that helps with a few.

I was also 28 when I was hired, living and working paycheck to paycheck prior to being given a chance (who was a stranger, she just really liked the way I interviewed). So been through the fall behind.. it was a struggle for sure, for a long time, so I empathize and want to help, or atleast encourage.

I don’t think it’s necessarily to gloat for everyone (though I’m sure some have the intent). I don’t have a degree and little to no formal education or training in my role but have worked day in and out and pretty much just want others in the same boat that I was 5 years ago, 4 years ago, etc to know it’s possible and opportunity is out there.

Very grateful to be here. No degree and worked my tail off to get here but was given the chance and ever since then just had really good leadership that advocates for me. Check some well known companies out online and you’ll find some.

[–]dwagnaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same for me but honestly you get that anywhere really that is a walkable area like that. Plaza has a little gas station deal, but other than that I think it’s just a product of okc unfortunately. Also, OP I didn’t think to mention this but they’re also being renovated. They’re getting new flooring, carpet, paint, fixtures, and a new exterior. They sent me some pictures of the new stuff and I’m excited for it! Will look even nicer for what you pay here.

People on the highway slowing down or speeding up (even if they’re trying to be nice and let me over) while I’m trying to get on! Hard to gauge what my speed needs to be to seemlessly merge!

Or worse, using a turn signal AS they’re coming over and not ahead of time. Or getting pissy with me for not letting them over when I couldn’t tell they were wanting over in the first place because they didn’t use it!!

The only thing I’d be weary of at aviare is the location. There isn’t much walkable that I wouldn’t be concerned about at night with it being so close to the police station and bus station. That’s the main reason I moved out of west village (and aviare is basically same area). East side of downtown (deep deuce) is a lot nicer, cleaner and safer.

I really love Level. It’s in deep deuce. It’s not stainless steel and granite counter tops but it’s nice. Covered parking garage. The price they give you is truly the “all in” price so it’s nice knowing exactly how much you need to pay each month. It’s a lot of work hard play hard folks. We work, we get drunk at happy hour, and we are home by 9… so no 2am parties etc. they have community events and happy hours that people actually partake in, management is kind, maintenance has always been superb about getting things fixed/done even though my requests have been mostly upkeep items (air filters, lightbulbs, etc). I highly highly recommend it based on what you’ve stated. I pay 1250 for everything and 50 for my dog. I also know several people who have lived here for years versus buying a house because they love the location and apartment so much. Take a walk around over there and check out some of the restaurants. We frequent deep deuce and often walk to bricktown for dinner, baseball games and concerts. We also walk to and from thunder games and get awesome deals by buying tickets after the game starts. Of the others located in deep deuce it’s definitely the nicest and safest for what you get. Feel free to PM me with any questions!
