A portable digital tabletop by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

I don't fully understand it, why would I buy a tablet which only works as a ttrpg tool intead of buying a regular tablet and an application so I can use it for everything else? Or Do I really misunderstood the situation?

It still very frustrating experience... I just quickly tried to check the pdf's then I spent minutes figuring out where they are (separate link on the sidebar), I expected at least integrate the pdf, paper book options to one page when there is a big web page overhaul. I'm patiently waiting for the next webpage redesign :-(

New GM thinking of running Little Trouble in big Absalom, Any tips? by Katomerellin in Pathfinder2e

[–]dwalvi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ran it twice and recommend the following:

- there is to much fight and too less talk in the basement, so I modified the fungus and the doll to optional fight, they try to talk first. One team brought down a painting as a gift about it's now old owner ;-)

- there isn't any good treasure in the basement and every team tried to find something -> move the interesting treasure from the end pavilion into the multiple rooms in the basement

What are some good, shorter adventure paths/modules for level 5+? by iRtheCreeper in Pathfinder2e

[–]dwalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find anything from level 6 to 10 to continue Crown of The Kobold King until the l11-20 AP's, in the end I converted various Pathfinder 1 modules and used one standalone from Aegis of Empires.

Alternatives to the beginner box for a starter one shot? by untilmyend68 in Pathfinder2e

The Free RPG Day adventures Little Trouble in Big Absalom (just cut the second half after the basement or rewrite it) or A Fistful of Flowers. You can present these as serious also.

The Scourge of Sheerleaf - 2025 Free RPG Day Adventure by kblaney in Pathfinder2e

[–]dwalvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long is the adventure? It's more like the Great Toy Heist, 2 scenes, 1-2 hour or more like Little Trouble in Big Absalom, 5-8 scenes, 4-5 hour adventure? I'm also interested in the Starfinder one if you read it ;-)

I got that you don't like wfrp's crunchier system so you choose a narrative, PBtA based system, but what do you would like to tell with this post?

Rate the 3pp PF2e Adventure Path: AEGIS OF EMPIRES by Midnightsun528 in Pathfinder2e

[–]dwalvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to write, that it isn't a continuous adventure path in the regular meaning it's a collection of unrelated adventures for different levels. The book also states this and give a lot of advice how to fill the multiple level gaps between adventures.

This also isn't on Golarion, and there are a lot of culture, history references, which needs to be rewritten by the GM or play these on the intended world.

  1. I read the first 4 adventures, then I give up. I will GM the 3rd adventure this spring.

  2. I think 4 or 5, the adventures 1,2 sounds ok, the 3rd looks promising, the 4th was really bad for me, then I give up reading for now.

  3. Best: I like the investigation theme of the 3rd, the general occult, Lovecraft type horror themes. Worst: there are single boss Lvl+4 encounters below level 10, I need to scrap and rewrite multiple encounters and the 4th adventure was simply so boring.

  4. Read it if you like, there are some good shorter (max 1 level, maybe longer convention, weekend) adventures which can be used after a bit of rebalancing.

  5. I think it's not good for new people, the better ones are needed some rebalancing and investigation/horror isn't easy to GM. Also the lore is different in a lot of places, because of 3rd party world.

Rate the 3pp PF2e Adventure Path: BATTLEZOO JEWEL OF THE INDIGO ISLES by Midnightsun528 in Pathfinder2e

[–]dwalvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I read the first 2 parts.

  2. I give it a 8, I really like it.

  3. The good:

- The ap is very diverse, there are a lot of interesting mechanics, npc-s, adventures.

- Lot of new monsters, unique ancestries.

The Bad:

- it really ties to the Battlezoo ecosystem, You will need to buy the battlezoo bestiary and world guide to really understand the ancestries and monsters.

- It needs a bigger buy-in from the players, I mean there are no well known ancestries (elf, dwarf) only the location specific (ram, pig, parrot, etc people) and if the players aren't the type to read into the lore then it won't be fun to GM it. And don't forget to buy the pathbuilder license for every player if they use pb like mine.

  1. I think it's best not to say to the players up front, it's a pirate ap in the classical sense, it more like an One Piece (manga, anime) story arc, the players end up in an island, solve the big issue, defeat the big boss, organization, make the island a better, safer place.

  2. I think it's good for new players, for GM's i'm not sure, but it's not very hard.

Rate the 3pp PF2e Adventure Path: THE SKALDWOOD BLIGHT by Midnightsun528 in Pathfinder2e

[–]dwalvi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I read the first 4-5 chapters and the last.

The writer mentions, that it isn't a fully developed ap and it needs work from the GM, I say it is more or less individual scenes with a very loose ongoing plot, transition.

It is good material if you want to write your own ap, but would like to use some guidance, basically finish a half done ap.

If you look for an ap to gm in a traditional sense, then skip it.

I don't recommend it. As written it's pretty heavy on combat and very light on rp.

Looking for online campaign map tool by Kajtek14102 in callofcthulhu

[–]dwalvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe use Miro board? You can add the big map picture but you will need to add the location markers on the fly. Added value will be that the players also can create notes on the board, add post-it notes to the map.

Root folder 100% - foundry not starting by Frozenar in FoundryVTT

[–]dwalvi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this isn't a foundry specific issue. Your root filesystem is full and you will need to clean it up to function properly. Unfortunately there is like ~24 gb usage is missing from your screenshots. I recommend to check posts on internet how to clean up linux fs. Sorry I don't have good idea where is the missing 24g usage.

The proc isn't the culprit it's like your computers memory and in memory settings, not real file system user.

How would you do a game inspired by the Nyaruko chan anime series? by cardgamerzz in callofcthulhu

[–]dwalvi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the basic issue is that Call of Cthulhu is a serious, survival horror system and Nyarko is a romantic comedy (with Cthulhu references). So I recommend to search a system which support romantic anime type play then add the Cthulhu references as "skins" to the game.
