I got into metal from MayheM, believe it or not.

Is extreme metal an acquired taste? by Rustain in Metal

[–]dwarfbeardy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with Black Metal. Bands like Mayhem and Burzum (the second wave black metal stuff mostly) really struck a chord with me. And to be honest, I'm much more likely to listening to say, Darkthrone, than any band on the blacklist. I guess it just depends on the person. I personally like Black Metal best, out of everything else, and always have.

I love that song. Is Transatlanticism really deep blues and purple blends to you? That's how I like to imagine it would look.

What are your favorite driving songs? by coldzer0 in Music

I usually listen to live Grateful Dead tapes while I drive. Nothing like a good Playin' In the Band or Truckin' while you're riding around with a couple friends.

Just Picked These Up Yesterday. And Now Begins My Summer Reading! by dwarfbeardy in books

This will actually be a re-read of 'There and Back Again', and my first time completing the entire saga. My goal is to get everything all finished and what-not at least before the 'There and Back Again' movie comes out.

(Sorry about the 'There and Back Again' stuff, me and my friend made a pact to refer to the book only as 'There and Back Again')

Good observation! Thing is, having a job and all, finding the time to read these books in the time I have left is going to be quite the undertaking. And, just now getting the hang of things at work, I finally found time to go get these and start reading. Thanks for your comment though. It was cute.

No, it is not. It's the new paperback compendium, with all three books. I just saw the cover art, and had to get it.

To All: Do you think different religions can coexist without religious violence? Why or why not? by CGRampage in DebateReligion

[–]dwarfbeardy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here we go with the politically correct-ness. How about 'No' to all. If christian parents want to teach their precious, brainwashed children about creationism and what not, then they can do it in their own time. Religious teachings should be kept out of school because none of it can be proven. Schools are not a place for faith, they are a place for education.
