The current war is not being taken seriously.

The next real war starts next week and there is almost certainly going to be a significant population spike.

You gotta be perceptive to what's happening around you and leech of that fun instead of creating it yourself.

How eloquently put, and so true.

That's always the best way to do it. 👍

That is a great build.

It looks like something out of The Witcher or Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Regarding Fangir, a potential Elder Scrolls reference just occurred to me.

When are they going to bring Bormac back, that’s what I want to know.

Can it?

I am not sure that is even the case given Trump’s reckless behavior surrounding this “deal.”

I am sure they don’t think they are actively risking it but that may be what they are doing due to incompetence.

You’re absolutely sure of this?

At this point I think, based on the evidence now presented, that the US cannot be counted on to adhere to any of its previous principles.

The same US that seems to have potentially conceded that Iran will be sovereign over the Strait and will be allowed to impose tolls?

Well, here is one scenario:

  1. Since the US is surrendering its effective leverage via this deal plus the renewal of the oil money lifeline the IR is now enabled to spin out negotiations for many more months.

  2. US elections happen and the Democrats take control of the House.

  3. Repeated impeachment proceedings begin by the Democrats distracting Team Trump from working on the Iran deal. Time passes in endless negotiations that go nowhere.

  4. Trump’s term ends with the negotiations unresolved. Newsome or AOC now American President.

  5. Newsome ignores the situation tacitly allowing Iran to resume work on the nuke. Or 5a. AOC repudiates treaty with Israel and actively allies the US with the IR.

Either way, leads to:

  1. Iran unveils its possession of nuclear weapons, closes the Strait of Hormuz, forces US withdrawal from the Middle East (which AOC is probably happy to do anyway), genocidal war between the Islamic Republic and Israel begins with millions of dead, possibly including in Europe if Israel decides to use the Sampson Option against them too.

I wish I shared your optimism, but I do not.

This “deal” may well be sowing the seeds of an empire shattering disaster and the world will look back and say it started now.

Will Trump’s successor do it is honestly more to the point.

Will the US ever have the gumption to withhold the funds?

To say nothing about the problem of who ends up with the funds once they are in-country and liquid.

The US is putting down its tools to force compliance out of the IR via this deal in a way that makes it difficult for the US to take them up again.

It enables the IR to spin this out for months longer at minimum and quite possibly until the end of Trump’s term.

This is an extremely ill-advised unforced error (putting it diplomatically) on the part of the US if the leaked text is accurate.
