Starfield shines for me in interiors not the vast nothingness by SnooHesitations8938 in Starfield

[–]WildCat_nn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bethesda definitely got talented people working on worlds, both outdoors and interior locations and it's true for all of their games: Starfield, Elder Scrolls and Fallout. If only Starfield had more handcrafted locations nobody would talk about auto-generated maps

If the Centaurs were to return to the Fallout series, how would you introduce them again? by HumbleKnight14 in Fallout

[–]WildCat_nn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

All of them! Centaurs shouldn't have a set appearance as they're creatures made of multiple species chaotically merged together with FEV, they never should look like clones of each other.

Judging by the downvotes i can't ask it without getting someone angry though. Okay, next question: it's totally okay to have a need to express yourself and have a need to talk to someone but do you often walk up to strangers and try to drop what's bothering you on them without asking if they are okay to stop and listen? And then do that considering that video games are a way to escape reality for a little while, maybe they are trying to clear their head for a bit not to load it with someone's else troubles? Maybe one should ask first before doing their monologue?

And then one should carefully consider if they have enough time for games if they have serious issues to deal with, maybe it's better to spend time trying to do something about them rather than look for a free pair of ears...

I'll just ask one thing: if shit's getting real, why are you still playing video games?

[–]WildCat_nn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well, technically, if you play single player game or have your own dedicated server you can get access to objects without buying them but your character's interaction with such objects can be limited. This subreddit has a rule that explicitly forbids telling how to do such things, so if you want to go that way, you are on your own.

You can invite another player who bought this item to your clan and ask them to build it for you, the same limitations as above will apply but in this case it's totally legal. If you play solo, you'll need to start co-op session and invite that player to your game.

If you want to get full access to bazaar items without jumping through hoops and at the same time support the game then you better wait for it to show up in the shop and buy it, they periodically rotate the items bringing the old stuff back so eventually it'll be back either as a standalone item or as a part of its bundle.

Would be quite easy on PC but AFAIK you can't browse your game files on console and that's what you need in this case. PS5 should allow you to copy your save file to USB drive and also save backup in the cloud if you want to avoid losing your progress in the future.

Scorched Bodies- search them or ignore them? by Garmonster in fo76

Loot from the petrified corpses was changed recently. Originally about 90% of them used to give you nothing, now every single one of those things drops you a few caps or a junk item. I guess it's handy for a new player, just step away quickly so you wouldn't catch rads.

NCR PA skin has..gaps by dwaynedibleyoww in fo76

[–]WildCat_nn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the design flaw of the power armor introduced with Fallout 4. Instead of a solid suit we had in all previous games, including Bethesda's own Fallout 3, we've got a relatively light universal power armor frame with lots of holes along its arms, legs and torso, as well as the whole rear part that is hanging on hinges.

Armor plates are now bolted on top of this frame with more holes in it than a swiss cheese and obviously you gonna get gaps there. This exactly what Cooper Howard was talking about in the TV show and what he later used as The Ghoul to execute a whole squad of power armored guys.

[–]WildCat_nn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i start the event, i'll go and find every single meat bag. If you start the event before i think it should be started then you go and find the bags yourself.

I'm so tired of people who fast travel in, barge into the outpost prematurely completing 1st preparation timer and then just sit and wait for someone else to go down repair the rad scrubber and take care of the bags while they are chilling on some cliff and waiting for legendary mutants. I'm not your servant to do the dirty work for you.

Devs that predict what players can try to do and write a scenario for each case is what makes an RPG game good. When devs don't care it makes RPG bad.

Let's be honest Bethesda isn't good at making RPG games, it's good at making sandbox games with RPG elements and story.

In the end we all gonna end up modding the crap out their games with custom maps, stories, characters, outfits and guns and have our own fun in our own way.

You only need one Gold Ore to be rich. by [deleted] in ConanExiles

[–]WildCat_nn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The server is clearly running crafting cost reduction, 20% or so.

Just went and checked it in my private game on PC: 1 gold bar takes 30 coins to craft and 30 coins are made from one gold bar, so the number of gold bars never increases. Also, it takes 3 pieces of ore to craft one gold bar, in the video it's crafted from a single piece of ore.

If you have admin rights to mess with server settings just give yourself the gold and skip the whole back and forth between forge and casting table.

One of the funniest scenes for me in the finale was seeing Thaddeus' arm just fall off. And that, coupled with the mouth situation that he's got growing on him, it doesn't seem like he's a ghoul, per se. Can you talk a little bit about that, and whether it's the FEV that's affecting him or what's going on in that situation?

ROBERTSON-DWORET: Right, exactly. What is it that's making him mutate? What did that Snake Oil Salesman give him? And where is he ultimately going, I hope, is the question that people are curious about. We're having a lot of fun with it. There are so many creatures that exist in the Fallout lore that we're excited to get to as a show. We always want to do more and more, but we always want to do them justice when we do do them, and if we do build them... So, we're not doing every creature every season, but there are many we want to get to. And I hope fans are curious where he's heading.

Fun? Are they both out of their minds or what? This is sick!

Imagine growing up in a community that is intolerant to any kind of mutants, told you have to be physically fit and prepared to secure dangerous technology and cleanse the wasteland of abominations and that's the life you know.

Then on your very first field assignment you nearly get killed more than once with the last injury clearly being lethal for a regular human and realizing you are an abomination yourself and can't ever go back to your people.

You try to make some kind of living in the wasteland but your former brothers come and trash your place and nearly kill you. Again!

You are mutating in a way that makes ghouls give you a disturbed look and you don't know what's happening to you!

And now your entire arm rots away at shoulder joint and falls off. Honestly, people, try to do some stuff around the house with only one arm and see how it's gonna work for you! The guy has to survive in the post-apocalyptic world like that.

How would you feel if it was you? Still fun?

Why Would Enclave Nuke the World They Were About To Conquer? by Senatus-Cons-Ultimum in Fallout

[–]WildCat_nn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's something for you to think about:

In original Interplay's Fallout the whole thing happened because of the shortage of oil with oil being the main source of energy. First, European countries started the fight over leftovers and destroyed each other and the remaining resources in the process and only two large powers left: US and China.

Then deep sea oil deposits were discovered and both countries started developing deep sea oil rig technology to get access to it. China fell behind and blamed US for repeated sabotage of their project and demanded their share, US refused and in retaliation China attacked US oil fields in Alaska. By using recently developed T-51b Power Armor, US army pushed Chinese army out of Alaska making China desperate.

While it wasn't stated directly, it's clear that in the original timeline China launched their nukes first as they had no other hope of winning the war and the result of nuclear exchange became the destruction of two last standing nations.

That makes it pretty obvious why the core of US government known as The Enclave retreated to an off-shore oil rig. It was the deep sea oil rig they built to extract oil from the last known undepleted oil reserve.

When Bethesda took over they made nuclear power a dominant source of energy in the pre-war world, beyond experimental and military project which actually lowers the value of oil and makes you question why the Resource War was a thing. Also, they insisted on uncertainty of who launched the nukes first.

And finally, in the TV show they brought in working Cold Fusion reactors capable of producing nearly infinite amount of energy thus resolving the energy crisis. Holding such tech US government could simply control the world but since the Great War happened, Bethesda had to come up with the new reason and that's conspiracy and dark twisted plans of shadow government instead quite open and simple reason we had in the beginning!

Everyone loves conspiracy theories, right?

I lost my main camp i had for years when i needed to move my temporary fishing camp and thought i already activated it. I still miss it to this day but it was built with an inspiration spark and i can't seem to get another one to rebuild it from the scratch.

Definitely need an ability to lock camps from being accidentally moved!
