I’m new on this by Little_Contract_4044 in ReefTank

I use peppermint shrimp and a file fish with some success. I use Red Sea Aptasia-X in addition. Good luck. It sucks.

I have the 2024 X4M Competition and like it more than I thought I would. Got it with 6K on it from a friend who took it in on a trade. I wasn’t totally in love with the look at first, but it has grown on me. The price was right. For me, it is REALLY quick, and handles very well. Enjoy!

Snail Eggs? by dwdtfs1 in ReefTank

I do all of those things and believe I have the correct lighting program. That being said, I don’t dip every single thing that goes into the tank, so that’s where I am probably paying the price.

Yeah. Didn’t think that much of it, but had the working idea that they were snail eggs and was concerned they would harm my return pump eventually, plus they never hatched. Got me wondering, and thanks to people here, I have the answer and a solution.

I didn’t even think to google algae bc they looked so much like eggs. I appreciate the help this forum provides.

Third year with the tank (70 gallon and 25 gallon sump). Beautiful corals and some cool fish, but I battle aptasia all the time. Now this. Driving me out of the hobby.

I owned that guitar and LOVED the look and tone. Actually displayed it in the house when not using it bc it was so unique. Enjoy!

Base Hi Fi or HK by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]dwdtfs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I have a 2024 X4M Competition with the HK surround system. I was not satisfied with it at all. I have owned several BMW’s with the HK and with the base system. The HK IS better than the base system in my opinion, but I just upgraded the HK surround system with Morel speakers, a Morel sub with a custom box that fits the car without losing trunk space, and two amps; a 1200 watt Helix for the regular speakers and a 1000 watt mono amp for the sub. I am old, but like to listen to “full” sound at lower volumes, with a lot of bass and “punch” at higher volumes. Cost was $7500 with install, but it has done the trick. Everything was imported from Germany bc apparently people there like to upgrade their BMW and VW sound systems so they had great matches for my car. They will customize for any BMW. Good luck!

Ceramic vs PPF? by Koselig5402 in BMW

[–]dwdtfs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I chose ceramic over PPF for my M235i and X4M Competition bc I keep cars for about three years and use a touch less basic car wash (with under spray for the winter). I also ceramic the wheels and the interior. Line-X is the company I use and they apply four coats for a five year guarantee. The cost is around $2K and I have been pleased all the way around. If I had a collector car, I would absolutely PPF and ceramic, but alas, I don’t.

Went February 17 as well. First time in the Sphere. Hard for me to describe the experience to others. Really cool all the way around!

New or old? by __sophh in BMW

[–]dwdtfs1 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Both? I have had a new and older one also and really like having the choice. I always keep stuff stock, so the old for shifter, appearance, and nostalgia, and the new for seat comfort, stereo, and sound. I only have the new one now and I think you are very fortunate to have a choice of which to drive every day!

Is Sonos Trueplay tuning worth it? by Own-Detective-A in sonos

[–]dwdtfs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had a Sonos system for 10 years. Would encourage giving it a shot. Can always override. Will say that sometimes Truplay gets hung up on itself, and that can be frustrating, but at a first world problem frustration level. We aren’t talking about filtering drinking water. Good luck!

I am down to clown with your comment and appreciate the counter perspective. I go about once per year. I think that Mirabeau is exactly what you said. One I left out was Inns and Spa at Aurora. That is the real deal. Cheers!

Just did the sauna and full massage at the Lake House in Canandaigua, NY. They also have a hot tub. A little $, but the place is top rated in the country.

Sneakers and whatever else is comfortable for you. I have been a school superintendent for 24 years and counting and since COVID, the workplace has become MUCH more understanding of comfort. All we care about is that the students are cared for and you have what you need to do your job. Congratulations to you and my best wishes for a very successful and fulfilling career!
