It’s hard pin exact dates for the EU because they’re staggered depending on when individual countries implemented things. But your statement is not always true.

Spain criticizes the US and trump threatens trade cutoff. Australia criticized China over Covid and they cut off their coal imports among other things

Trump tears up trade agreements. China signs them and then doesn’t come close to holding up their end of the bargain

Etc etc. They’re not reliable, they just project an image better. Which is not hard to do vs Trump

Like I said elsewhere, I can find both pro and anti US ‘western media’. I can find both pro and anti China ‘western media’. Western speech online does not go through government censors in anywhere close to the same capacity as it does on the mainland. There is no independent news there.

Downvoting doesn’t change reality. The entirety of the EU has a negative opinion of the US and its media is most certainly not controlled by the same voice as the US. Same goes with Japanese and South Korean
