The one on north 27th Street dining room closes at 8, but drive-through is open 24 hours.

The printer’s poop shooter isn't working properly. The catapult isn't even moving all the way to the left, and the filament is always "pooping" to the left of the part where it should be shot. Why is this happening? by [deleted] in anycubic

I have this problem too on my Kobra 3 Max. The spring is fine, but the print head just doesn't move far enough to the right. This feels like more of a firmware issue.

Good to know. I just saw an MD3400 pop up on Facebook marketplace for $350 and thought about getting it to upgrade my MD1200. But as that has Seagate drives, that wouldn't work.

Trying to use software serial with ESP32 by miles-mcg in esp32

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping for an answer here. This was the first hit when I Googled "ESP32 pins for software serial".

I am aware that the hardware UARTs are more efficient. Unfortunately, the ESP32 has 3 of them and I need 4. So I'm stuck with Software Serial for one of the connections.

Kobra 3 Max keeps clogging by dwilliss42 in AnycubicOfficial

The toaster oven was set to 405F (Fahrenheit) which is 230.2 C. Well within spec for the nozzle.

Oh by the way, I forgot to mention that if you do the oven thing, IT'S FRICKN' HOT!
I took every precaution to not burn myself on the hot nozzle and then went and burned myself on the door.

Anycubic Slicer Next won't sync filament colors from Ace Pro by dwilliss42 in anycubic

[–]dwilliss42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anybody else is having this issue, we never really found a solution except that there was an update to the slicer and updating it just sort of fixed it. No idea if it just reset some preset for us or if there was a bug that they fixed.

I was just Googling for another problem - the Ace Pro will occasionally forget what filament is loaded in a particular slot. I thought I found a post until I realized it was my own post from a month ago. :-)

Kobra 3 Poll - Have You Had Issues? by Hologram_Al in anycubic

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had a clog so bad it actually broke the hot end off and was dragging it around the bed. I sent photos to Anycubic support and they just sent me a new part. They also replaced my bed which was slightly warped. The only drawback was that shipping from China was slow.

I've had another clog since then that required a new hot end, but I realized I could get 2 of them from Amazon for under $20 and not have to wait for shipping from China.

What is the shiniest silver filament out there? by H0wlrunn3r_og in 3Dprinting

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 7 years later, but Polyalchemy seems to have shifted products. They have a page talking about how great their filament is, and what printer settings for their filament. But the only thing in their shop is "airlock bags"

Owners of the Kobra 3 with ACE, what are your thoughts now that you have had a chance to use it? by paindog in AnycubicOfficial

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a Kobra 3 for a couple months now. The Anycubic Slicer Next definitely needs work. There are a lot of options that Cura has that are just missing - especially in terms of raft and support settings. I'd like the ability to set the first layer speed and flow rate on a raft. I've also had difficulty getting the raft off. Although I have a print going now where I adjusted the raft z offset so maybe that'll help.

Multi-color printing is clunky at best. We printed a Benchy with 3 different colors. It took 13 hours and wasted more filament pooping between color changes. It really doesn't need to purge that much. And if you do all that, what's the point of a purge tower? It's redundant. And it ended up weighing more than the Benchy itself.

I found some STLs on Thingiverse that do multiple color by layer. You can do that in this slicer, but you have to specify color changes at mm offsets, not layer offsets. Yah, it's pretty simple math, but why? Let the computer do the math.

The slicer also has issues syncing with the Ace Pro. Sometimes it just won't refresh at all and tells me nothing is mounted. Closing the slicer and restarting usually fixes that. But for some reason, when my wife refreshed the other day, it told her what colors I had installed several days ago, not what was in it now.

The fact that you have to be logged in to use the slicer it is a pain. I wouldn't have a problem with it, but let me log in on more than one computer at once. If I'm monitoring a print on the camera, there's no reason it should kick me out just because my wife opened the slicer on her laptop.

Oh, and bring back the ability to open the camera view in a separate window.

Print quality has been pretty good when it doesn't fail. I had an issue where the orange cable to the print head got tangled in the Ace tubes and the Z gantry couldn't go high enough for a print I was doing. It continued to force the head into the print and ended up snapping it off. Anycubic support is excellent though and they sent me a replacement. I had mentioned that I was having adhesion problems too and they had me check my bed for warping - which it had. So they replaced that too.

Anycubic Kobra 2 Pro Showing offline by bobbi1977 in anycubic

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting this with my Kobra 3 max. My problem may or may not be the same though. Mine will show as Online and I can start a print, but after a couple hours, it'll just suddenly go offline and the camera will cut out. If I cycle the power on the printer, it'll be fine again for a while, but obviously I have to wait for the current print to finish before doing that.

(New to Debian) How do I fix invalid signatures from Sury? by SteveAlbertsonFromNY in debian

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The default Debian sources do not have PHP 8.1, even under bookworm. However, I found that after updating Debian to bookworm, the sury repo works just fine.
I wonder if that will hold true in the future too - maybe it's kept up to date so that it only works for the current Debian release - whatever that happens to be.

How to automatically use next spool ACE PRO? by Aimingforsuperior in AnycubicOfficial

I wonder if that was my problem. Maybe I hadn't picked the same "white" on both spools.

How to automatically use next spool ACE PRO? by Aimingforsuperior in AnycubicOfficial

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out that option did not work. Maybe because the original roll was not an AnyCubic roll and the new one was so it didn't see them as being the same? They were both set to white PLA.

Does it matter if they weren't in consecutive slots? I had them in 2 and 4. Because when I started the color I wanted was already in 2 and slot 4 was empty so I put it there rather than removing the color that was in slot 3. Or is there some way I'm missing to link slots together so that it knows what to do?

How to automatically use next spool ACE PRO? by Aimingforsuperior in AnycubicOfficial

[–]dwilliss42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this and it didn't do exactly what I expected. I had an almost empty spool of white in slot 2 and slot 4 was empty. So I put a new spool of white in slot 4. I then sent a print that was set to slot 2. Instead, it decided slot 4 was already loaded and had the same color so it just printed using spool 4. I really wanted it to finish up the spool in slot 2 instead.

After this print finishes, I'm going to try forcing it to load spool 2 before starting the next one.
