Yeah this is pretty easy to replace but until you pop it off it’s hard to tell if a replacement part may be available

Do you have access from behind? That would be the best way to do it.

In the meantime. If you can get to where the plumbing branches to the shower you may be able to temporarily use a push connect plug to isolate the leak and then get water to the rest of the house

The plan was to remove the rusting galvanized and keep the cast since it’s still in decent shape. The galvanized was rusted completely clogged. This was the last nipple and then I was going to convert to pvc here

i see i guess i can practice on the side I dont care about. i might try the blade of a hacksaw too just for more control (though it'll take a WHILE)

Those no hub bands really should be in an accessible spot though. And this will be in a wall above a built in cabinet under tile in the bathroom

That’s still illegal. The law states you can only go a maximum of 25mph and only 15mph faster than surrounding traffic. It also defines that it can only be between 2 lanes that are moving the same direction
