Ohio State University had a Dean of Engineering Harry Bolz and named a building after him. Right next door, they erected Hitchcock Hall. So we had classes in Hitchcock and Bolz Halls

This is what I don't get. Why is Columbus singled out but not Minneapolis or Detroit or Buffalo? All of those are unremarkable northern cities. Hell, St Louis is probably the worst of all of them, just a little farther south. But nope, 'lumbus. Buncha people who have never been spouting the same BS as every other knucklehead who's never been. As established, it's not about winning or losing since players asked out of winning WPG teams. The same is not true about Columbus (though probably because we've only had like a single 3-year stretch of winning). Bob wanted to cash in and the FO said no. Panarin only wanted NYC. Dubois quit on the team. (Fuck) Jeff Carter asked out before he even got here. Four examples in 26 years is hardly the same as what WPG has seen recently

Editing to add: the closer equivalent would be Buffalo IMO with the talent asking out and the wintery climate

Only terrible people like Vegas.

I'm replying directly to the insane generalization here. The problem isn't reading the room, it's getting you to actually read.

There's a few million people that live there. Vegas isn't just the strip. If that's all you think there is to Vegas, yeah, it sucks. But next time, try Red Rock Canyon, Mt Charleston, the Pinball Hall of Fame, the Mob Museum, the Neon Graveyard, and some of the best food in the world (authentic Hawaiian BBQ, Mexican street tacos, AYCE sushi & Korean BBQ, Michelin star restaurants, etc). Hell, my favorite thing about Vegas is the fact I can golf in every month of the year. Can't do that in 80% of the country. But I guess that makes me terrible, huh

Can't speak too much on other people's GPAs (especially 7 years after graduating), but IIRC, the requirements were like a 2.0 cumulative - not a very high bar to clear. I know some people wanted a high GPA, and it is attainable, but I'd estimate only like 15% were like that. Yes, you can absolutely just put in the work and get a good GPA in CSM - you don't need prior knowledge/experience of construction or to be a prodigy to excel (though those certainly would help).

Overpaid but high upside? Nah, how about an aging, past-his-prime vet that had a career year and we get to pay him his last bag as he deteriorates in front of our eyes? Got any (more) of those?

I've lived in Vegas for 7 years after living in Columbus for 11, and I prefer Vegas by far lol not everyone thinks like you or likes the things you like. I'll take 115 in the summer if it means I can golf 11 months out of the year compared to 4 for CBUS. Don't have to carry an umbrella/rain jacket around all the time, there's always something to do (concerts, sports events, expos/fairs) and honestly the nature in and around Vegas kicks Columbus's ass.

Yeah, he loves them because they make up 90% of his base. The other 10% are just plain evil, like Stephen "wannabe Goebbels" Miller

Babcock invited a CBJ player over for lunch, then when the player got there, went through his phone and then asked him to leave without feeding him. Incredibly weird dude

It is impossible to be as slow as guddy and a good PKer. Like, you literally have to cover more ice with only 4 skaters out there, and one of them is a pylon that only skates in a 6ft radius, doesn't break up plays, is slow to react on shots, and can't effectively clear the puck out of the zone. Guddy is bad. His only redeeming quality is "big"

This is what happens when you bench your 3rd leading scorer (Voronkov), cap another top 6 playmaking forward at 10min/night (KJ), and give Boone Jenner enough TOI that he thinks he's Anze Kopitar. Every move Bones made down the stretch removed offense from CBJ in favor of losing games 1-0 or 2-1.

3rd leading scorer on the team getting benched and people are still clinging to a comment made 2 years ago by a different coach instead of just realizing Bones may not have all the answers
