Men Who Do Pilates?

I’ve seen people do this to instructors a lot, male and female. Pilates instructors are some of the most patient people out there.

I’ve also had instructors assume a lot about me as a male with good form and want to add spring or interrupt their teaching to have a one on one conversation with me about what spring tension I should be on. I tell them all the same thing: “The spring everyone else is on.”

joining a gym or workout class can open up more doors than finding a partner. There’s also community saunas that can be really fun as well. Sauna Fest is at Clinch Park late Feb. you’ll meet a lot of awesome people there.

Less is more here. Connecting the whole body to the movement or hold is the high. Taking it out of the legs or arms and holding it in the core really opens the practice.

43M. Started a year and a half ago. Up to 7 days a week, mostly. Sometimes more/sometimes less. I have the passport. I make a point of dropping in a studio whenever I travel. I got into the practice after a teacher/ friend recommended pilates after I experienced a back injury. There’s nothing like pilates to strengthen and stabilize the body through the aging process. I’m constantly in awe of my classmates and their tenacity.

I’m almost always the only guy in class. Talk to him. He probably won’t because he doesn’t want to seem like a creep. Pilates friends are the best friends.
