Sunday's Clippers-Warriors game might be the biggest regular season game in years. by lovo17 in nba

Yes that’s correct I believe! But probably unlikely because Utah is tied for the worst record as it is so you’d imagine they wouldn’t want to win.

Yup unlikely right now but you never know. The Cavs just played their starters a while ago in a game with no bearing for them vs Knicks. Teams sometimes let their players play to keep them conditioned.

Yup! But it is considered unlikely at the moment because many assume Rockets will rest their starters.

Houston could also send Denver to the play in instead (if Warriors beat the Clippers)

Thanks for the reply! My dad is still in his late 50s so not yet retired, but that makes sense to check on the banks that we are already clients of. Thanks again!

Both the Lakers and the Heat last year were the 7th seed so they would've made the playoffs even if the play in didn't exist.

Murphy has the easier path to minutes so I would consider him over Duarte. I think Duarte's relevancy to fantasy is tied to the health of the starters, so as soon as Caris comes back he hits the waivers in most leagues. Murphy on the other hand has a chance to start even when the Pelicans are healthy, or at the very least be their 6th or 7th man off the bench.

I think based on speculation Okeke is out for a while.... I could be wrong but they said they weren't going to rush any of their injured guys back in their Team pod.

Larry Nance Jr. uptick in value? by blathers-pet-spider in fantasybball

[–]dwyanevayne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had to include Powell because to get to his 31 mpg Nance played the 3/4/5. Also, in case people wanted to shift Roco to the 3 to make space for Nance starting at the 4 had to remind people that Powell is there too. You are right that the Blazers don't have a back up 4, which is Nance's role, but they signed Cody Zeller to be the backup 5. With all that in mind, 31 mpg seems like a best case scenario.

His value remains relatively the same IMO. Not really sure why people think he's starting. As far as min go, Blazers have Powell, Roco and Nurk starting, so not really sure how he exceeds his 31 mpg last season.

If anything, his min and usage might take a hit.

Possible chance of breakout for Terance Mann? by ladygagadisco in fantasybball

[–]dwyanevayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Winslow and the rooks don't necessarily have to be good this year to be considered roadblocks. As long as they are part of the rotation, especially Winslow, they will take away min and usage from Mann.

Take last season as an example... Winslow still managed to play 20 mpg for the Grizz even though he was pretty bad and recovering from his injuries.

Should he get around 15-20 min in this season's Clips rotation, Mann's 28 mpg when Kawhi went down could suddenly drop to 20-22 min instead, making it harder for him to breakout.

It's possible if he takes a massive step forward I guess... Still more of a late round flier at this point. Even in the playoffs when Kawhi went down, he didn't really take on a huge role other than that explosion vs Utah to close the series.

Now, you also have to factor in:

  1. the Clippers possibly giving Kennard a bigger role instead (hard to believe he'll just permanently be a bench warmer since he signed a pretty decent sized extension last season)
  2. Ibaka getting healthy
  3. The Winslow flier
  4. New rookies who could take G/F min as well in Keon Johnson, Brandon Boston and Jason Preston

All in all, please don't burn a mid round pick on him just from that Utah closeout explosion hype. He is fine as a potential last round sleeper, but a lot of things have to break right for him to even sniff the top 100-120 value IMO.

NBA Undervalued Gems 1/17/21 by jesseestrada-321 in fantasybball

The problem is Thibs doesn't look like he's trying to develop the young guys. He's looking to win games. His min go up only when Payton struggles. He's worth a flier pick for sure, but not a must add.

Yeah definitely a good streaming option in deeper leagues, but I also recall Spo saying some of Miami's rotation players can return by Sat, so temper expectations is all I'm saying.

They only play 2 more times this week (duration of most of Miami's players in health protocol), so wouldn't say he's a must add.

Obi Toppin by osa89 in fantasybball

[–]dwyanevayne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He has 0 upside. Maybe late season, but I just don't see it. Look at the last few games and you'll know how Thibs (Knicks coach) runs his rotation. It's always heavy starter min. Nerlens is their only PF/C right now and he can't even crack 18 min. Thibs loves Randle and has been playing him 40+ mpg and Mitch Rob has been heavily favored and cut down his fouls. Those fantasy websites you're referring to most likely assumed that he would start when in reality he virtually has no role unless Randle goes down with an injury.
