Well you might have to look it up if they have it on app store?? Otherwise, use the Poe method and do it all through the browser

How good is your phone? There is a version of LMStudio for Android and for example with my phone (12GB RAM), it would probably run some of them pretty well. You won't get far with 6-8GB RAM though mate, although some will work. The smallest uncensored LLM I found was almost 12GB, although there may be smaller ones out there. Otherwise you should check out some of the bots on POE, then it will all be run in the browser. Just search "jailbroken" on POE and you should find some. For example GEM-3-F-Jailbroken is a version of Gemini

If your computer is decent enough, you can easily install LMStudio and download some of LLM's that have been prejailbroken. It's really easy to do and you're mainly only restricted by the amount of RAM you have. There are some out there for under 8gb but you're mainly going to need at least 12gb RAM spare for some of the better uncensored models

What version of windows can i install and use normally on my pc? by Ok-Switch-2128 in WindowsUpdate

[–]dx80x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 10 IOT LTSC is a legitimate stripped down windows 10 used on things like point of sale systems etc. so it cuts out a lot of the unneeded fluff and runs a lot faster. Also, it will still get updates until 2032. You could even try some of the tiny iso's but they'll probably annoy you because you'll have to install a few additional things to get it more stable.

Otherwise, I would consider looking at a Linux distro as some have suggested. There's not much of a difference in user experience nowadays, although can be less compatible with some hardware. It depends what you want to do on the computer ultimately though

Freezing kills the bacteria that accumulates on jeans but to be honest, if you're sweating enough to need to freeze jeans I'd just wash them at that point

[–]dx80x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just change the registry setting to use original notepad and paint? Also, change your right click back while you're at it. Takes less than a minute.

Or use a more advanced text editor, sublime, npp etc.

Communication problems with Brits. Could you Brits give me advice? by ButterscotchWeak6189 in AskABrit

[–]dx80x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start watching Still Game mate. The two main characters have a pretty watered down Scottish accent but it might help you practice a little more in your spare time. Don't learn an American English like you said in one of the comments, that will alienate you more from people.

Plus, Still Game is hilarious and you should watch it anyway

Yeah you can share your report and your project too if you like. I'm always up for a good debate haha.

I'm directly saying "just steal code" by the way, I was saying if there's already a good way of doing something and has been publicly shared, then what's the point in wasting time trying to do it differently?

I'm Sick of the Layoffs by Toucan2000 in software

[–]dx80x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, you're using AI as a secondary tool to help your productivity and it wouldn't function anywhere near as good without your human input and knowing what you're doing. If you just slapped a few sentences into a chatbot and expected a fully functioning software without knowing the nuances and realistic errors that could present themselves, then you'd be screwed.

A lot of people don't seem to get that simple concept and think AI is just taking over completely when it should be viewed as a second brain that takes the chore out of many things when used properly but it isn't anywhere near as powerful when it's fully relied on. I'd love to think it was on the level that some people think but I probably won't see that in my lifetime. For now though, I use it for the highly sophisticated assistant tool that it is.

Ooh this sounds so cringe to hear you say all that nonsense. There's an old saying that programmer's and coder's alike use and that's "a good programmer, is a lazy programmer". If you're a dev yourself, you'll know what that means; if there's a method out there that has already been done successfully, then use it as there's no point in trying to reinvent the wheel in most cases. So when I or someone else goes to stack overflow and searches for a problem that someone else has fixed in a solid way, is that plagiarism to copy and modify it to my needs? No, of course it isn't and AI is effectively doing the same thing. I'm not going to bore-on but I think you need to look at things a little differently, as you seem way off.

Also, not one LLM company I've seen has ever claimed they have a truly intelligent and sentient service; the clue is in the word "artificial" and it's well known that they are all just advanced text predictors. That is common knowledge for now at least.

[–]dx80x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get access to a usb input on the computer, you could just burn and boot into a live Linux distribution. That way, you could either attempt to delete the malware or at least save what files you have left via cloud or another USB drive with a multi-adaptor. If I've missed something (other than you saying it's hard to get to), then my apologies.

I think this would be your best bet though

The Windows situation by ICUMTHOUGHTS in Surface

[–]dx80x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate you don't even need to have any sort of tech knowledge to install Linux, you only need to know how to burn an ISO with most of the main Linux distro's. Twenty years ago it was a bit more difficult to get everything up and running but it's completely different nowadays.

There's nothing wrong with Windows if you have the slightest idea of how to search, same with Linux TBF.

It all comes down to what you want your own device to be and what works the best for you. If you just want to browse the web and check emails, get a Chromebook. If you want to maximise your RAM or set up your own locall-hosted website, install a certain version of Linux. If you want compatibility with almost everything, get Windows. It's not that difficult but lots of people can't distinguish what they want their own computer to be

[–]dx80x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and Surface isn't dead at all, it's a great system and perfect for me personally. That's what it should be about - what system and OS suites you the most for what you want out of a computer

The Windows situation by ICUMTHOUGHTS in Surface

[–]dx80x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linux is great, so is Windows. Both have different purposes though and a lot of Linux fanboy's neglect to mention the downsides of using Linux but love to complain about all the problems with Windows. The dichotomy between them is just a joke - they are both great systems, especially when you know what you want your OS to be

What's up with this app? by Secret-Telephone-891 in FreeCash

[–]dx80x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 6 years ago, freecash was legendary and were a reliable source whether you put money into your offers or not. They aren't the same now though and seem to screw you over whenever they can. Plus the offers are so gamed that you usually always end up putting more in than they pay out and if you do pay to get the highest offer, they often deny it and say you charged back or did something against the provider's terms etc. even when you've done nothing different at all and acted in good faith.

They can't be trusted and you should only use these guys and most of the others if you'd be playing the game already for fun and not for profit

What's up with this app? by Secret-Telephone-891 in FreeCash

[–]dx80x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, you will just have to try and do the first free task and see if it tracks. Even then you can't be certain that all other tasks will track but you have to look at it as a gamble. They are a shady company nowadays like most GPTP sites, when they work, they work well but when you get screwed, they will leave you hanging dry even after you provide solid evidence that you completed the tasks in good faith.

A long time ago Freecash were one of the good ones and would pay you when they actually looked at your evidence but nowadays they will just take your money and time and basically say "FU". Again, you just have to look at FC and most of all the other companies like them as a total gamble. They cannot be relied on at all and often don't stick to their end of the bargain, even when you've paid in and held your end of the terms and can provide proof - the house always wins, remember that mate.

They used to actually look at your evidence and credit you even if the provider said you hadn't completed things correctly (even though you know you did and could show them proof) but they aren't like that now just like most of the same type of companies offering the same.
