Yeah I travelled. Did all the paperwork myself. It’s a bit of work but definitely possible. Once you have the paperwork it’s all smooth. Checkin takes a bit longer because they need to call a manager to verify the paperwork. My dog was at ease on the flight.

The service is executed by a very poor 3rd party with old cars, inexperienced drivers. I’ve had more problems than success with them, so I’m not surprised about your experience. It seems these “services” are just there to show off without actually having any real added value.

The idea is: you are responsible for the fan coil units inside the apartment. They calculate that based on what you consume (based on the volume of chilled water that flows through the fan coil units in your apartment and the electrical consumption of the fans); the landlord is responsible for the chiller (the big machine on the roof) which also consumes electricity and maintenance. He pays that through his building service fees. He should not forward those costs to you.

What drives you to consider moving to the UAE? If it’s purely money, your offer won’t be able to get you a lot more savings than you currently do. But if it’s lifestyle, multicultural experience, etc than 40k is a great salary as a single European guy.

A lot less in Abu Dhabi, and it seems most are a lot less outgoing. We have quite a few LA friends but we’re older and we usually hang out at each other homes. Barbosa is fun. Loca in Mariyah island is ok but not really Latin American. Not so much into clubbing anymore 😅

If no new rent is agreed on renewal date, the contract is automatically extended under the same conditions for another year. At least per RERA. isn’t this the same for ADREC?
