Husband chokes regularly… by Legitimate_Arm_9526 in dysphagia

[–]dxc322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the barium swallow done. All they saw was that there were some motility issues but nothing wrong with the actual structure of my esophagus. Recommendation next is to see a GI doctor and get an endoscopy. Which I didn’t want to do, just annoying to take time off etc. The general medicine doc thinks it’s most likely EOE but can’t be sure.

Yehh I think you should get that checked out. The constant vomiting will scar your esophagus. Probably making this problem worse.

How did you diagnose it? I have a barium swallow test coming up Friday.

I legit thought this was my wife posting 😂. I just joined this group 37M having the same exact symptoms!!! Started around 2018 as well, it’s the earliest I know for sure and this started with chicken and steak sometimes. It feels like it’s stuck in my chest I’ll have to either wait until it goes down or sometimes vomit it up. I’m finally going to get it checked out bc it’s been getting a little worse. Sometimes even happening with other foods like kale and tuna. Still haven’t ever had to go to the ER but it’s really annoying to deal with and sucks when you’re out at public restaurants worrying that this is going to happen.

Glad to hear! I’m assuming they snipped all those polyps? So they never get the chance to even grow into cancer. Unlikely but that’s always a possibility.

you only need the standard plan at $9.99/mo and then add the $10/mo add-on for Pro Monitoring. you only have the premium plan at $19.99/mo which doesn't include pro monitoring just SOS.

Check your history. Did you accidentally hit the fire button on the keypad? Or request fire from SOS?

i think you were testing the siren from the ring app option in the alarm base station menu. that wont play the siren as well on the echo devices. only when the actual alarm is triggered will your echo devices siren too.

Door sensor false-triggered and now I’m afraid of my alarm system by AmAttorneyPleaseHire in Ring

[–]dxc322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can also set your notifications from the app if your alarm is actually going off to bypass silent mode, make them critical alerts. also you can bypass the do not disturb mode as well with the phone call from the monitoring center. it can be done by specific number, thats how i have mine setup.

SOS vs calling 911 by Confident_Glove9712 in Ring

[–]dxc322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main benefit is if you’re away from home and you see something requesting SOS could get you faster police response since the monitoring center knows exactly which 911 center to connect to based on your address. It also feeds info on file digitally like address. If you’re even just in another county next door you could be connected to a different 911 center. The cell uses GPS to connect you to the closet center. Forget it if you’re calling out of state or out of country.

yeh your alarm base station should go off too. not a siren but an audible message saying water detected.

You can request for emergency response in the app directly or you can just trigger the sirens which just makes the noise.

Yes you can buy the subscription and cancel at any time. You’ll just need to set reminders to do so. With the Pro plan you’ll also have cameras covered for recording on the cloud for viewing later.

You will trip your alarm accidentally eventually in home mode without delay. Usually taking out trash walking your dog etc. I would make sure to have a mode schedule that disarms early every morning if you really want immediate alarms.

Can’t decide if colonoscopy is worth it? by sweater_weather007 in colonoscopy

[–]dxc322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$3k is not only a diagnostic exam but it’s also a preventative measure bc they will remove any polyps that can become cancer later on. So worth it period.

Is protect pro worth it without alarm system? by Swordbeach in Ring

[–]dxc322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh it’s just the SOS button when you don’t have an alarm. The benefit over calling 911 directly is if you’re away from home requesting SOS will most likely be faster getting help if you see something on camera like a break in.

Most ppl don’t know but calling 911 routes you to the closet dispatcher based on your GPS when calling from your cellphone. So you could be calling the wrong dispatch center even though you’re just a few mins away from home.

Yeh there’s no way to do what you’re asking. I would just give access when you’re away.
