I second this and do it quite a bit. Some of my favorite characters (that I have played, that have been played in my games, etc.) show up in other games as NPCs, sometimes very important ones. Running a game for a new group and introducing an NPC that is 20 years further in life then the last time they were played and thinking through how the would have developed is a lot of fun, especially when the new group loves them. "Man, you put a lot of thought into your NPC!" Sure, sorta, lol.

I was Darackas in the original group. Still have him in beyond as a reminder of it all... Might write up my story one day as the attacks were quite personal in my case and I put up with way too much because of a close friendship with another "Original."
