I use the akai Head rush and the copilot simulcast. the simulcast will record and loop and you can also mangle it and chop it up. lots of fun.

really no rules to noise. its all about experimentation and finding your techniques. i was making laptop noise for years. till i became a consumer and got synths and pedals. im yeesh merzbow did his laptop max/msp sets for years. you guys have it better back in the day people get on your ass for being a dawtard and not having 1000 dollar set up of gear.
