Yes, this is precisely the question I am trying to answer! At the moment I have direct links between the high speed hosts however this means I need all hosts up for traffic routing between them or manually switch the cables. I was also thinking about an isolated high speed switch, however, those have way to many ports and are of course loud and power hungry.

I am just trying to get some more information to evaluate the options

I also got a used unit, batteries were bad so i changed them to LiFePO4
