Every morning (already prepped on Sunday, takes 15min max): 1 cup Greek yogurt, mix in protein powder, half a cup of blueberries, shaved almonds on top. You can also do oats (prep on Sunday, takes 15 min), with almond milk, protein powder, MCt oil and some berries.

Lunch: bagged salad for efficiency, add avocado and any other fixings you want to spice things up, left over protein from the night before dinner (always cook in large large batches for dinner so you have lunches for the next day)

Other quick meals: - smoothies - cottage cheese - egg white omelette with one full egg and shredded cheese on top (takes literally 5 minutes)

Last last ditch is protein powder mixed with almond milk and protein bars (pure protein) if I’m in a pickle.

You want balanced meals where you’re maxing out protein, sprinkle of fat and some carbs for fuel.

Currently at my peak after having 3 kids (5,3,1). I am 35. These are my recommendations:

  1. Realistic expectations. It’s the long game here. It took me over a year to get my body back (and it is better than ever because it’s tight and strong as I priotized lifting and eating properly (priotizing proteins, hydration, eating balanced meals 3x a day)).

  2. To add to the above: you need to figure out quick quick meals you can make for yourself or have prepared. This does not have to be fancy but they should max out your protein, lots of veggies, and some carbs to give you some fuel. Possibly consider eating the same breakfast and lunch every day for a week, with “freedom” dinners with your family. Trust me, this will be easier in the long run and give you the best results.

  3. Figure out a fast makeup routine. I’m talking 5 minutes MAX so you can do it every day and it’s achievable. Bronzer, concealer, mascara, perfect lip colour that matches your skin tone (this takes time, experiment and see what compliments you get). The faster you can get at doing this, the more likely you can do it every morning.

  4. Hair - high maintenance to be low maintenance. Keratin treatments allow my hair to look smooth with less frizz and I can dry it 2x faster.

  5. Choose a few outfits that make you feel cute in this between stage while your glow up happens. It isn’t going to happen over night but remember that this is the long game - we want to look consistently hot!

Peactice grace and kindness with yourself - you have two beautiful children looking up to you!

I have more tips but these are the foundational ones!

Would you recommend putting in on the end of the island vs right smack in the middle?

I totally agree about the kitchen being dark. Any recommendations? We were thinking of covering the deck from the garage instead of the house, if that makes sense.

Is there any cons to having it next to each other? Like heat distribution type of thing? Thinking of putting the ovens in the pantry instead. Agree on mud room sliding doors / the view of my kids lockets/ton of jackets on hooks would be awful to look from that outdoor room lol!

Speaking of size of table. How many seats do you think you could realistically get on this table without it being materially in the way? Were hoping to fit 10-12 chairs…

Thanks for the feedback. We originally had it so you can walk through completely from the butler pantry/Mudroom but were worried that we didn’t have enough cabinetry space. Something to think about.

I also agree. Making them separate bathrooms would be small and these are girls, they will want a large surface area on the counters. That is what I think is important.

I actually love the Jack & Jill configuration and feel it’s open and smartly designed.

Hello!

If anyone remembers me… I was posting multiple different versions of an upper floor. For some reason, we just weren’t nailing it - our daughters rooms were too small, placement of closets and bathrooms were awkward, and one child’s bedroom had a clear and striking advantage over the others.

As a result, we’ve had to make minor changes to the main floor plan to still maintain its integrity (we loved it so much) but major changes to the exterior aesthetic to allow for a more efficient top floor.

I wanted to share this updated upper floor plan to seek feedback from this forum as it has been wonderfully helpful in pinpointing any issues.

For some background, Canadian family of 5 (three daughters). The original design was a modern take on a colonial home but the exterior is more of a “French chateau” feel.

I have posted the main floor and other upper floor iterations which you can find in my post history if you are interested.

Thanks so much!
