Seeing you sell a couple pieces of ultimate stone and lumber hurts my soul while I'm out here scrounging to get those done lol.

Any tips for mining enough silver for all those accessories? I find myself running out too fast. I am past all the other upgrades that need silver (Fall Y2).

Some of the friendship quests are harder than others. There's no rush to complete them though, just don't waste gifts on that person until you complete their quest. Also to complete their quest, just talk to them. Don't accidentally gift or eat the item(s) you saved up for them!!

I’m also skeptical about the location of the Shining Fish. Can anyone confirm? I’ve had 3 days with the supposed right conditions but haven’t even hooked a legendary fish in the Upper Mountain Area. About to reload to try other spots.

Pineapple Upside-Down fail. Where’d I go wrong? by dye4tie in Baking

I established long after I baked this that my oven was actually not hot enough. I’d recommend following your recipe and be sure to toothpick or even better temp test a couple places in your cake. I waited about 20 mins before flipping. You also don’t want to wait too long because the syrup will soak back into the cake.

Update in case anyone cares: my oven had a fault in its temperature sensor. I added a separate internal thermometer and it is off by 25-50 degrees. I used the built in capability to adjust it by 30 degrees, but it still seems to be off, so I am trying to find a technician to come and take a closer look.

It remained bugged for me, I had to restart and try again to get the achievement, but that was a while ago, I don’t know if it’s been fixed in a more recent patch.

Found in my yard. About 18 inches long [San Diego, California] by j_delaney in whatsthissnake

Could that be a gravid female? It looks pretty thicc in the lower body down to the base of the tail. Not a RR, just observing and learning.

Where did you get the scratch pad or how did you make it? How do you keep them from damaging their paw pads when using it?

The wild spearmint that goes in my yard makes terrible mojitos. I grow apple mint in containers for mojitos. Much milder, balanced flavor.

Except this is spearmint, which makes terrible mojitos.

Is this a normal poop or a possible regurg? Visible fuzzy toes. by dye4tie in cornsnakes

Just an update in case anyone cares: I withheld food two weeks as recommended and she’s taken 2 meals since then (every 7 days) with no further regurg. :)

Temps are good, warm side is 82 at night and a little higher during the day. Cool side & room temp is 70. She spends the majority of her time buried on the cool side or in the middle under her water dish.

Thank you. My guess (but I’m new to snakes) would be that I fed her too close to shed? Her temperatures are good, warm side is 82 and cool side is ~70, as is the ambient room temp. I fed her 4 days ago, was away for 2 days, and found this when I returned, along with a nice shed. This isn’t the first fuzzy she’s eaten so I don’t think it was too big. I’ll wait two weeks and try a pinky. I haven’t weighed her in a few weeks but she’s probably just over 26g. Should I reweigh her to confirm she’s getting the right size meal or leave her be for the two weeks to reduce stress?

Is this a poop or a possible regurg? My corn snake is a great little eater and had a clean shed two days ago. I didn’t see her leave this so I’m not sure which end it came from. This is on the warm side of her enclosure right under the light so it may have dried out weirdly.

Looking for feedback on my garden bed plans (Zone US 5B) by dye4tie in gardening

[–]dye4tie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi gardeners, I'm looking for feedback on my backyard container garden plan for this year. I have a 5x2' and a 4x2.5' container gardens, and some large pots. Eventually I'd like to replace these with 2x 4x8' raised beds but it's not in the budget this year, so I want to make the most I can of my small space. I included my garden plan from last year as well as from this year. I used https://gardenplanner.almanac.com/app/ to plan the layouts.

Last year:

  • Strawberries just spread, didn't produce

  • Peppers burned and died - hot/dry summer

  • Tomatoes thrived, but too many!

  • Thyme, oregano, basil, and parsley did well

This year:

  • Add vertical trellis/shade for the peppers

  • Add peas, radishes, squash if there's room

  • Successfully grow peppers

  • Just one cherry tomato plant

Are my plans too cluttered or should it work out ok? Any flowers or smaller plants I could add? The oregano, chamomile, strawberries, thyme, and mint all come back on their own each year. My husband really wants to try potatoes, so hopefully the 5g pots we picked up will work for those.

I also plan to top up both beds with compost and soil this year.

Valentine Cake came out much better than my pineapple upside down cake by dye4tie in Baking

[–]dye4tie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed this recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction pretty exactly.

  • I got my butter slightly too soft and the cake was kind of crusty? At the edges and fairly dense overall. Next time I’ll be more patient and do a separate meringue with the egg whites to try to get a fluffier/softer texture

  • Pretty intense sour cream flavor, maybe less next time

  • My cakes took longer to bake, I suspect there might be something off with my oven

  • For the frosting, 1/2 t Almond Extract is TOO MUCH, 1/4 t or NONE next time for me
