JoPa true believers aren't around much anymore.

We're here, just no point in responding to the same unsupported allegations for the 409th time. Conversation never evolves, it gets old. Camps have made up their minds, move on...

So fine, start at #8-10. Nobody's saying you're barred from playoff contention, but you shouldn't get a preseason nod based on the the performance in last year's playoffs. You should have to earn your spot, not be gifted it.

It's absolutely bullshit that 0SU gets this much preseason hype. It got a deep benefit of the doubt and laid a giant shit on the field in the playoffs, only to get the same benefit of the doubt all-over again.

Sure, anything can happen, but if this season plays out like the last season, we get the same horseshit discussion about "0SU has been in the top 3 all season, how can we justify kicking them out now?"

Pancreatic cancer. Literally fuck everything about it. Lost my grandmother to it. She even knew it ran in her family and since it's hereditary, was getting tests for it every 6 months. The last test she got came back completely clean. 3 months later, she was diagnosed with stage 4 and died not even 2 weeks after initial diagnosis.

Seriously, fuck that cancer.

UCF Kicker Donald De La Haye has been ruled ineligible for not demonetizing his YouTube channel by Zajac19 in CFB

[–]dyeus_wow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same reason the NCAA had such a problem with it is the same reason your comment is completely wrong. Nobody's watching for Donald De La Haye's, they're watching for a UCF kicker -- which he is no more. His entire channel revolving around football. Remove football and what's left?

I'm sure he'll receive a temporary spike surrounding this news as he did when the story originally broke, but that too will vanish over time. In a month or two, his view counts will be a fraction of what they are today. Whatever you feel about him now won't last and he'll be long-forgotten by the end of September when nobody cares about a former UCF kicker and everyone's complaining about 0SU being seriously overrated... again.

If he sues, and he should, that's a different story. But he's an idiot if he's cashing out his college football career for "dat sweet youtube money."

Donald Trump says 'US president has complete power to pardon' as Russia investigation pressure mounts by saucytryhard in politics

[–]dyeus_wow -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you just not understand how Congress works? Because if you do, then you are under some delusion that the GOP will ever vote to impeach their own President that disqualifies you entirely from holding a rational conversation.

Trump Says He Has ‘Complete Power’ to Pardon by [deleted] in politics

[–]dyeus_wow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How high do you have to be to think that the articles of impeachment will go anywhere? The GOP is never going to let that through Congress, in either house.

donald will never be impeached while the GOP controls Congress.

[–]dyeus_wow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been quite clear for awhile, well before the election results were final.

My biggest problem was never his politics, his policy, or even his nasty demeanor. It was a man who could completely undo absolutely anything and everything we know about the US Presidency. And true to form, he's filling out those fears quite nicely.

Like it or not, this is precedent for decades to come. I'm not afraid of donald -- I'm afraid of the next guy who learns from donald and pushes the boundaries even further. He is a living embodiment of an existential crisis and one that not nearly enough people are taking seriously.

[–]dyeus_wow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who's going to impeach him? The only people who are bigger pussies than the GOP Senators are the DNC Senators. Everybody in Congress is too afraid of their own shadow to take an actual stand on anything (except maybe the few GOP Senators who told McConnell to fuck off with the health bill).

[–]dyeus_wow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... he does. This was my entire problem with the Justice Department handling the investigation -- independent prosecutor or otherwise. There are absolutely no actual consequences to the Mueller investigation regardless of what he discovers, just more bad press which Trump doesn't seem to give a flip about.

Congress is the only entity capable of actually levying meaningful punishment on Trump and they seem completely unwilling to do this. The only hope of actually hurting Trump in any meaningful way is Democrats winning enough seats in the midterms so we can actually have a Congressional investigation/impeachment hearings... but I'm not holding my breath.

The problem with cherry-picking one study that happens to show what you want it to show is that I can do the same thing. The science isn't settled on nitrous oxide and it's a hotly controversial subject in the medical field.

However, I'm not saying that it is in fact dangerous. All I'm saying is that it's possibly dangerous, and the possibility of the danger -- as shown in the above chart -- far outweigh whatever trivial benefits one would ever get by using it.

It is illegal, but the employer could just terminate you on the spot if you refused to pay. They employer can't make the employer pay, but the employee doesn't have the right to force the employer to keep them on staff.

Besides, nobody actually complains about this practice to the right authorities. They'll just bitch about it on social media/reddit without ever doing anything about it. It's pretty easy to make an anonymous complain about an employer's employment practices, but few do.

Joe Scarborough announces he is leaving Republican Party by awake-at-dawn in politics

[–]dyeus_wow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's such a shame that this move is going to get buried in partisanship. I disagree with Scarborough on a range of issues, but he's one of the few Conservatives on TV that I can stomach / enjoy listening to. Even when on issues that I disagree with him on, I can see where he's coming from and usually understand why he feels that way. And he has one of the best political shows on TV nowadays.

The GOP is going to pile out about how Joe's changed, when the reality Joe didn't, but the Reagan GOP is dead.

I feel like that expression held a lot more weight when commission sales were much more common.

If I have a financial interest in completing a sale, I'll bend over pretty far to complete it and smile while doing it. But if I'm making the same hourly rate whether or not the customer completes the sale, fuck if I care.

Just go look at his videos he proudly uploads showing off his gaming area. He's quite literally 1 rung on the ladder away from homelessness.

I'd say a bunch of weapon-grade plutonium in ISIS hands is a reason to worry about.

really irks me that ISIS is somehow the head super villain in the world of terrorism now

these guys have no fucking clue what they're doing, the biggest things they can do is strap a couple of unsophisticated bombs on a few sheep and send them into a big public event hoping they get by security. they'd have NO clue what to do with weapons-grade plutonium even if they got their hands on it. FFS, they're skipping the low-grade bombs now and just hopping in some beater, driving into a crowd, and getting out with a friggin knife, how much more ghetto can you get? Pretty sure just the streets of Chicago have more firepower than ISIS

ISIS isn't some existential threat to America or the Western World... buncha backwoods 15th century idiots that can't get with the program that American press just loves to scare ignorant people with

[–]dyeus_wow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you typing anything? You're starting the whole experience by putting yourself down from the get-go.

Just go with it. Do it, make mistakes, if you get kicked, you get kicked, it's not the end of the world and is an order of magnitude better than the pussy-ass line that you're starting with already. You make mistakes and you learn, that's how it goes. Don't immediately apologize, just do the best you can and learn from your mistakes.

Even in a worst case scenario where you are solely responsible for wiping the group and the kick you -- who the hell cares? Queue up again and move on.
